PAINTING A PICTURE

I was honored to be contacted several months ago by Lillias Right, a woman in her late 20s who is taking the freelance modeling world by storm recently. Calling her voluptuous, plus-size, or alternative is simply missing the point, you can’t argue her beauty, sexiness, and overall appeal.

She flew down to my area, which was shocking, but then also booked TWO nights at a very fancy hotel so we could shoot all weekend. I wasn’t exactly sure what she had in mind, but since she referred to me as a photographer “on her bucket list of people to work with,” I assumed I could just rely on my instincts.

I left my crappy office job early, ran some errands to pick up some snacks and drinks she had said she liked, then drove half an hour to the airport to pick her up. Thankfully her flight was right on time and I only had to wait five minutes before she was off the plane. We hugged when we met and wasted no time getting to know each other while we waited for her bag to circle the carousel. Finally, with her bags in tow, I led her to my truck where the Del Taco she craved was waiting (she hadn’t tasted their burritos in years and had made a special request).

We swapped stories and gossiped all the way to the room, I went inside to help her check in, then we unpacked all her things, and my equipment inside. Still exhausted from a full day of traveling, she opted to take a shower before getting ready to shoot, which was fine by me, so I took a breather for the first time that day also, relaxing in a large, fluffy chair and checking out my stats on Instagram. When she was finally ready to shoot, the first thing we did was have her climb up on the large, golden bed that commanded the room. That’s when she really showed how much of a pro she really was.

Needing very little direction, she just went for it, moving around the red, offering different angles, shifting into the most flattering positions for both her and the camera angle. I kept adjusting the lights to add drama and moved around the room a bit, but other than that, Lillias did all the work.

For being set in one place, we still shot a variety of poses and styles. I have about nine other sets of images featuring various locations/different areas in the two rooms she booked, but first let me know what you think of these!

Would you like to see more of Lillias? Did you like her shoot? Please leave any comments you may have in the box below or in my DMs, and thank you as always for your continued support!!
