Added 2017-03-27 18:58:50 +0000 UTCThis was a raw shot that I loved, but it was far too blurry to do anything with. I include it here only to show that the process is not exact. The lens I was shooting with is a 50mm f1.4, so with all her movement, I always had to keep refocusing, thus her hand here is in focus and nothing else is. But the shape and pose and light is too good not to share, no matter how soft the image is.
What are your thoughts on image focus? Is it an absolute rule to having things tack-sharp, or are there times where focus doesn't matter?
