“What was that?” His best and oldest friend asked as he left the room.
“Nothing you need to worry about” He answered instantly, even while knowing that she was never going to drop the matter with a flimsy justification like that. But he didn’t really care whether she found out or not. He and Momo were not exclusive. Neither of them were under that impression and he’d made sure that they both stood on the same page when it came to understanding what they were, and more importantly what they were not.
We ended up being one of the last two to get to the pool. Not the complete last, as Hagakure wasn’t here yet, and neither were Ochaco and Mina. Probably getting their outfits in order. Speaking of outfits, he turned to Momo and gave her an appreciative once over that she practically preened under. In a bikini, there were few people on the planet who could claim to have Momo beat. She did not just have the benefits of her genetics to lean on, but the advantage of years of exercise that was aimed at getting her in the best possible physical shape in preparation for a hero’s career and the inherent stresses that came with it.
A full chest, hips that curved more than a circle’s circumference, and legs that went on for an eternity. She had so much going for her that it was just plain unfair to everyone else. Not like I was in any position to complain. I knew what my powers had done to my appearance over time. There was a reason that even experienced heroes and older women like Nemuri were willing to bend over backwards to sate my every desire.
When everyone had assembled at the kick off platforms, Aizawa gave one look around the group and then spoke “Each length of the pool is 500 meters long. That means you need to complete four lengths to finish this race. For those of you with heads too empty to understand that, I mean that you must swim to the other end of the pool and back twice to finish the race. As usual, the scores will be awarded in the order in which you finish with the last ten getting nothing. Unlike usual, this time you are not permitted to directly interfere with other participants’ attempts to complete the race. Also, the race must be completed through swimming. All participants must have at least 75% of their bodies submerged in the water at all times to escape disqualification.” He read out the rules while pinning us all with his gaze. If his gaze lingered on Bakugo and Todoroki while he spoke, then it was no surprise. Both of them had the potential to make this a different sort of ballgame very easily if they were given the space.
Once he blew the whistle to begin the race, I pulled at my chosen array of powers and dove just like any professional swimmer would. Supercomputer, Superhuman, and Minor shapeshifting were the trio I went with. Superhuman gave me enhanced strength to push through the water and enough lung capacity that I did not need to surface to breath for the whole period, and minor shapeshifting was just as the name said. Minor. I added some skin between my fingers and my toes to replicate the appearance and effectiveness of Webbed fins and feet.
