Greetings Adventurers!
We are here at the very end of February and I'm squeezing out the 3rd (and 4th patron-only freebie) Boss Battle Maps! If you missed the 2nd Boss Battle Map of the month, you can find it here: https://www.patreon.com/posts/47475648
The base map releasing to the Barbarian tier takes place in a frozen tundra. This one in particular lies deep within a mountain completely enclosed within the icy temperatures of the north. The platform however lives above a bottomless pit and the battle area is surrounded by a wall of flames. In the center is the conjuring circle where the big bad is no doubt awaiting your party's arrival.
The Death Knight tier will be getting even more ice in their variant! The bottomless pit is now a thin layer of frozen ice. The peaks hanging from the top are now frozen as well and the fire has turned into cold flames. Also, it's snowing! I feel like this variant definitely gives it a bit more chilly factor that would be fun to include with your boss encounter.
The additional patron-only bonus map is an interesting one. It takes place in a room of science where a giant brain sits center, being infused with electricity in an attempt to bring it to life. You can see a touch of magic lives here as well, and the living veins begin to grow from the brain. The variant sees the transformation complete, where the veins have now grown and spread throughout the entire map! Additionally, the power bestowed upon the brain has devoured the center of the map, sending rubble and debris falling into an empty void of nothingness. Watch your step!
The Necromancer and Legend tiers will be getting gauntlets crafted by the artist César Ayala and authored by myself. The Necromancer tier will be getting the gauntlets artwork by itself with a transparent background while the Legend tier will be getting the "Arctic Gauntlets." These gauntlets are considered a legendary wondrous item and will definitely benefit your party with this week's map.
I hope you all find uses to throw these maps at your players with some amazingly fun (and challenging) boss encounters. Thank you again for your patience as I had to go out of state in the middle of the month but I'm sure free maps are always a welcome gift in return. Don't forget, the poll for next month's map theme is currently running and will end on March 2nd! So patrons, get in there and vote! Until next time, may your hearts never grow cold!
