Crater Battle Map - Release

Greetings Adventurers!

This week's patron-only map is the site of a large crater! This crater is found in the wilderness, matching this month's map theme, but I've also included a few other goodies to go along with this site. So let's get into it!

The base map releasing to the Barbarian tier is the crater site in it's raw form. Something very large has impacted this site, and destroyed a structure that was previously there. You'll see remnants of stone and buildings completely shattered and blown into the foliage surrounding the area. You'll also notice burn marks and everlasting burning ash resting amongst the greenery. This destroyed area could hold something even more mysterious however, as in the center of the crater is a deep hole that could lead to an area of your choosing. It could be a path to an underground temple, dungeon, or even a new area of the Underdark.

The Death Knight tier will be getting an additional bonus map with their usual variant map once again this week! The first variant has a glowing orb as the source for the crater. It burns with a powerful purple flame that bounces light off into the entire environment. What magical properties does this orb contain? A magical weapon? A celestial being? Is it sentient? Let your creativity wander with this one. The second variant I decided to be a bit more specific for the crater and allowed a demon from the nine hells to appear from the center orb. It was a gateway to allow for this demonic creature to make an appearance and cause all sorts of trouble for your party to engage in. Of course, with most demons, you could always strike a bargain for the low cost of one soul...

The Necromancer and Legend tiers will be getting a pair of gauntlets crafted by the artist César Ayala and authored by myself. The Necromancer tier will be getting the gauntlets artwork by itself with a transparent background while the Legend tier will be getting the "Obsidian Gauntlets." This wondrous item is an uncommon magical item created using pure obsidian volcanic glass. Additionally, the Legend tier will be receiving this item in digital card files.

I hope you all enjoy this one! I had a request to add in some Sci-Fi material so I tried to bring in a little bit of that theme in this week's variants. I may try to dive a bit more into the Sci-Fi material moving forward as it really opens the door for some creative thinking when it comes to D&D. We'll see how it plays out moving forward.
