Tom Dooley’s first near death experience!!!

Parked on a dirt road and walked close to a mile to a river. Tom Dooley was having the greatest time of his life splashing around. Then we see storm clouds coming. And lightning!!! And I got freaked out since I got struck by lightning last year. I told Don we needed to leave. He said it wasn’t gonna make it over the mountain… HA

It came so fast - hail PELTING US!! Had to run back to the car in the sand. Tom Dooley had to stop halfway because the wind was blowing him so hard he couldn’t walk. Don grabbed him and ran!! We couldn’t see 10 feet ahead of us.

And wouldn’t you know it there was literal QUICKSAND on the way back we got stuck in. But we made it out…

Finally back to the car and we get on the highway. Every car is driving 20 mph in a 70 zone with hazards. We make it back to our house just nearly missing a FLASH FLOOD that just closed down the highway. I can see traffic backed up from our window. Not sure if we’ll be able to go to town the next couple of days due to mud and rocks. Found out there’s another landslide on the other side of town too, so we’re locked in place.

Came home and bathed him and he stared into the void for 20 min like he had PTSD. Now he won’t get off my lap, so I can’t move all night.

Nevada weather is no joke!!!!!
