Added 2025-02-01 12:08:19 +0000 UTCDid you know I wanted to be a veterinarian my entire life until I went to college? I had so many random animals as a kid, from horses and ducks to African claw frogs and chinchillas. I've always felt super comfortable around snakes. I worked as a kennel assistant, vet tech, and horse back riding instructor but when I got to college I really struggled with chemistry. The professors were old and kind of mean, I had trouble understanding how they were explaining things and I didn't want to fail any classes. I changed my major to economics because I loved history and math and though it changed my goals, I never lost my love of animals. I'll still pose with them any chance I get.
Alex met me just a few months after the photo with the black and white newfie puppy was taken. I had broken up with my boyfriend before him and decided that I would just turn into a crazy animal lady instead of dating. Meeting Alex obviously changed my mind, but thankfully he puts up with my love of animals and got me shadow and kitty.
Side note - my mom kept my newfie puppy, Lilly, while I was in Iraq and Afghanistan and decided that she wanted to keep her permanently and train her as a therapy dog. Lilly lived to be eleven years old and passed away a few years ago. She was my mom's bestie.

2025-02-01 12:37:40 +0000 UTCHa very true. Chemistry is so tough. My teacher in High School was a very cool younger guy, probably in his late 20s who made chemistry exciting. It felt like magic. When I got to college it was all complicated formulas and no magic at all. I love that law school was easier than chemistry for you haha. I actually took the LSATs and got into several law schools as a first lieutenant, but the Army wouldn't let me branch transfer out of logistics to go unfortunately.
