This is partly autobiographical, based on my own experience of someone who started doing exactly what Ally does when I was about 20, but it was actually inspired by something I saw online recently. I was just, ahem, doing some, uh, research, yeah research, one-handed research that is, when I found a video of a super-cute girl-next-door type, the sort of girl you might see in the grocery store or going to college or just anywhere. So it got me thinking - how long had she been planning to do that? Had she been holding it a while to make sure it was ready, or was it a spontaneous thing when the urge hit? Anyway, I was planning on this being a short, quick and easy issue for the 2nd half of January, as we've done a few longer issues recently and we're quite badly behind schedule. However once I started working on this one it got all out of hand (at one point the script had 175 frames) - I had to pull out loads of story elements to get it down to a manageable size, but that's cool because it gives us so much more we can do with this storyline later in the year.
