Red Armor part two

Hi!

I've just uploaded in the post below the second tutorial about painting Argel Tal, which is mostly about painting red armor, back details and golden NMM.

In this tutorial I use glaze technique which I presented and explained on this free video tutorial that you can find on YouTube channel:

Red Armor part two

Thanks for replying! That's really interesting. I was scared to use real black for the shadows so I used Word Bearers Red from Citadel instead. That probably explains the difference haha.

Hi Emile! I'm taking my pictures with Nikon 5100 combined with Macro Lens so pretty decent equipment for making photos of miniatures. Other then that I have good source of light on my desk and as you can see red color scheme that I have here is different. While it might look like saturated red color it actually is pale in the brightest parts, and thanks to that I can make good colors of it. Cameras has problem with saturated red color like Vermilion, and that's why this time I decided to try out pale, pinkish colors for the armor. The color looks saturated because I made black shadows around it :)

Outstanding work as always. I have a question about your pictures. I'm trying to replicate this on a battle sister to make her part of the Bloody Rose order and so far it's looking real good in person, but I can't take a good picture of it for some reason. I remember you saying red was especially difficult to photograph from your Corpse grinder video. How did you manage to take such a perfect picture?
