Jordan Peele is a fantastic writer/director and he keeps this energy up with "Us" and "Nope". It's a shame that people constantly compare his next films to this one just because this was an Oscar winning breakout first film for him. Both of his next films are amazing in their own unique way and not tied to this, however they also have tons of racial and societal commentary in them, it's just a lot more subtle compared to the glaringly obvious tone and dialogue in this one. I'm so glad you both caught onto the fact that every little detail has a second meaning and it's usually suspicious, because a lot of people don't catch on until way later in the film. I always love what you two react to and look forward to whatever comes next!

So happy that you finally watched this! I love it although I agree that is disturbing. My interpretation of the movie is that it tries to show that racism is NOT about simply disliking/hating black people. The crazy family in the movie adored black bodies and even wanted to become black - BUT they had zero respect for the human beings whose bodies they snatched. Men who look down on women don’t hate female bodies, to the contrary, they often ONLY love their bodies but not their persons. In that sense both sexism and racism is about not viewing certain groups of people as individuals worthy the same rights and respect as everyone else.

Such a fun reaction you guys! Shoshana's little yells were great! LOL I was the same way Vince - Didn't give this much thought when it came out and really missed out on seeing it in the theater. Caught it a couple of years later on streaming when I had some friends that kept telling me I needed to watch it.

I think "Us" and "Nope" are on par with this movie. As far as how good the movies are and how scary these movies are, it's a three-way tie for me. I can't pick one over the other.

yeah, the execution of live action Death Note is not the best. It's a guilty pleasure for me, but Lakeith's performance in DN is great I think as was Wilem Defoe. I thought Vince might want to watch DEATH NOTE if he hasn't since it's based on a manga series. (That was also an anime series.)

Oh shit how did i not realise that Lakeith Stanfield played L in the live action remake. I guess i was so underwhelmed by the overall movie that it didnt click. He was probably the only one whose performance i liked. Im someone who generally dislikes race swapping characters so thats saying something.

The actor who plays Andre is Lakeith Stanfield. He was in the live action remake of DEATH NOTE on Netflix and in KNIVES OUT. Great reaction video for GET OUT. Lots of layered meaning beyond just a good horror movie.

Great reaction you guys. Since you guys watched the movie now. Fun fact when the cop was trying to add Chris's Driver License to his police report Rose wasn't defending Chris due to the assumption of a racist cop. Rose was actually covering her tracks by making sure Chris's updated whereabouts not known to the police in case he ends up as a missing person.

So much under tone in this film the cotton balls Chris put in his ear is what set him free ironically cotton is what the slaves were picking in the plantations while being the slave master property. Also the black servants are just what they are but it's also a double meaning of some blacks having to pretend to be someone different around Caucasian people to make them feel comfortable. Rose separating the colors of the cereal from the white milk represents segregation.
