And no Vince, she's not based on the girl who can walk through walls, those are to entirely different people. Also, Jason was lobotomized by his own father to make him more docile. Let that sink in.

I'm guessing that the decision for them to ultimately sacrifice Jean Grey was to lead more directly into the next phase of her evolution - becoming the Phoenix.

2023-08-27 05:39:12 +0000 UTCso - just as a tid bit of detail - in the Marvel comics, Nightcrawler is the secret son of Mystique. Whether this is true in the Bryan Singer movies is never confirmed. In her interactions with Nightcrawler, it certainly seems like she is very detached from him - or at least feigns estrangement. Lady Deathstrike (the asian lady with the claws and regenerative abilities) also has a romantic relationship to Logan. This is also not confirmed in the movies, but his amnesia covers a lot of reasons why he wouldn't remember.

2023-08-19 15:08:16 +0000 UTCI nice thing to know from these films is that the stories are meant to represent the civil rights movement and racial discrimination and segregation in the western world. Just like African Americans and other minorities were discriminated by those in power and the majority of America pre-1960s (and even today in some situations) , the mutants are hated and discriminated against as well, in which they have to hide their abilities. Professor x is like MLK or WEB Dubois, he believes one day humans and mutants will work and live together in harmony. But this requires mutants to educate and learn to control their abilities, magneto is like Malcom x or Marcus Garvey, he believes humans will never truly accept mutants and will always come after their kind, so he believes in fighting humans. Like such, neither character is evil; they just have different views and methods of fighting the system and protecting their kind.
