2023-08-05 11:07:05 +0000 UTCYall were on the right track about I Love Lucy. However, episode 1 is mostly based closely on The Dick Van Dyke Show also of the 1950s. This episode and its theme song and the slightly different styles of the 1960s is based on Bewitched which actually had a similar premise of a husband married to a secret witch. The show is a celebration of TV through the decades. Things like the square aspect ratio for that old tube TV look. And the separate beds at the beginning was a trope of early sitcom TV because it was actually scandalous to imply the characters had sex.
