All these crazy/epic theories about how Wandavision was going to have such a “huge impact” on the entire MCU and the multiverse and was going to somehow tie into Spider-Man. But none of that turned out to be true. I liked Wandavision so I hope they watch it. But it has nothing to do with No Way Home.

I guess I shouldn’t be suprised people are so impatient looking back at that. People say phase 4 has no overarching purpose but that’s the point. Everyone is picking up the pieces after endgame. Loss and grief is the theme. They won’t truly appreciate the magnitude of No Way Home if they skip to it

2023-07-30 02:43:02 +0000 UTCI am always in favor of release order, but if they watched No Way Home (NWH) next it wouldn't be the worst thing because, if you remember, NWH and the concepts explored in it were supposed to be introduced in the original release order before Covid. I'd need to peruse NWH again to make sure, but I'm pretty sure there's nothing in NWH that spoils the other projects. In fact, because everything in Marvel was seemingly disrupted by Covid, Me Too, BLM protests, the looming writers strike (though, it could be argued that the writing quality in phase 4 and beyond didn't demand payment) etc., a reconsideration of the viewing order of this slate of Marvel projects may be justified in the future. Things are topsy turvy with Marvel right now, and if Quantumania and Secret Invasion are any indication, things aren't going to dramatically improve very soon.

All in all though when I compare it to other elements of the netflix shows it just falls short. Probably because Kingpin and Kilgrave are literally 2 of the top 3 villains in all of marvel live action media. They set the bar so high and it was always going to be a big task to keep it there.

Is an animated series that shows alternate versions of mcu events for example what if Peggy carter gets the super soldier serum instead of Steve Rogers. Moon knight is largely unconnected, it happens within the mcu but is a totally self contained series. Werewolf by night is also completely self contained and doesn't have any implications. The rest either all directly set up movies or have some kind of relevance. That doesn't make them all fantastic as everyone will tell you but if you're fully committed to the mcu journey then they all tell some sort of story about the characters you've come to love.

And some are, the punisher and Jessica Jones S1 are top tier and are even better than most of the Disney marvel shows but it's the others that let it down. That's my opinion anyway

So they’re fairly easy to bang out. Sure, the wait time for movies will be longer, but I think it’s better for you guys to check out everything that the MCU became once it delved into TV shows.

Unlike in the earlier phases jumping from far from home to no way home doesn’t spoil things like how watching captain marvel first before the other films would even though chronologically it’s first since no way home begins right after far from home ends. Or if you were to watch Captain America 1 and then move straight to winter soldier afterwords. It’s not the same.
