[YT Edit] Star Trek TNG Key Episodes (S6 EP 4,10,11)

Hey guys! Here is the YT edit for S6 EP 4, 10 and 11, which will premiere shortly.

[YT Edit] Star Trek TNG Key Episodes (S6 EP 4,10,11)

Comments

Jen Murray might. She's eight months in to a TNG watch- and only on s04e05 (edit- 0406), showing the problem with watching a long-ass series. She might get to Stargate in 2030 (if she watches the rest of Star Trek)

Mike Lemon

Cassie should watch what she loves and she loves Trek and particularly Jean Luc-Picard! I think Cassie is getting the balance right between Trek and other reactions.

Neil

Yes, I counted the Youtube edits. I assume some of the full reactions were combined for YT.

Clarence Newman

I love watching her reactions on all of the star trek she has watched as I am a big non-horror Science Fiction fan not just star trek but I do love star trek, star wars, Babylon 5 and my favorite science fiction series is definitely Stargate SG-1 and I really want her to watch all the episodes of all the series of star trek and Babylon 5 and especially Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis; We can avoid Stargate universe as that show was not anywhere near as good as the other two series in the stargate franchise but I do understand that I will probably not see anyone react to all of my favorite shows which makes me sad but I do enjoy watching all I can and I really hope to see her continue her star trek and science fiction television journey in the future

Eric Traylor

"17 slots so far," - Are you counting YouTube or full? I just counted 23 full reaction slots. "not as much as Star Wars (22)," - I objected to that too. "More than anything in these reaction vids,..." - And I push for variety. "I'm curious if you're actually watching these Trek videos" - No. I am done with the long series - Star Trek, Star Wars, Marvel, Rocky, all of it.

Mike Lemon

17 slots so far, and that's still not as much as Star Wars (22), which I struggled with for the same reason. You know I agree with you on the core of this issue, Mike, but there's one thing there that we differ on quite a bit. "I don't want to sit through watching someone else watch dozens of episodes of series I moved on from 20 years ago." More than anything in these reaction vids, I love watching Cassie enjoy herself, whether it's a fluffy rom-com, the X Men movies (not exactly my cup of tea by themselves) or my personal faves like Rocky and Trek. I've seen loads of these films and tv series before, some of them many times, but the very reason I'm here is because Cassie enhances them with her personality and engagement. I'd probably struggle watching the full Trek series' on my own now, but she adds delightful little highlights that make them new again. I'm curious if you're actually watching these Trek videos, mate. If you're not, you're missing out on some real reaction highlights.

Clarence Newman

I won't speak for everyone, but I have a feeling others' thought are similar to mine- "complaints about how long the Trek" - The 'long' is far bigger contributor than the 'Trek'. "those who don't like Trek" - I like Trek. I watched it for decades in my past- OST, the cartoon, TNG, the movies, I still like watching Mike Stoklasa lose his mind talking about it, but I don't want to sit through watching someone else watch dozens of episodes of series I moved on from 20 years ago. "Since she began the TNG series..." - And since starting Trek, she has dedicated 23 (or is it 24 now?) slots to the franchise. It's too much. "which means two more vids ..., three ..., then the four ..., followed by the 3..." - For a total of at least 35 slots of Trek- three whole months. Again, it's too much. Then there are the people pushing for VOY, DS9, Picard, and on and on. "Trek just seems to be particularly polarising." - Because it is so freaking long. If it would have been movies 2, 3, 4, and, maybe, one of the TNG movies, the people complaining wouldn't have. "(max 10 episodes) are far more conducive and wouldn't tie up the channel for months on end." - Limited and mini-series are much more acceptable (but not Shogun 2024- that was horrible), just space them out.

Mike Lemon

Still seeing a few complaints about how long the Trek journey is taking, so I'm going to take a pause from my own enjoyment of it. Unfortunately for those who don't like Trek, Cassie is having an absolute ball with the series. Without a doubt, it's one of her favourite discoveries of the channel and therefore exactly the kind of thing she was hoping to experience when she started out three years ago. Since she began the TNG series, she's given us 41 other videos of diverse content (out of 51), so I think she's still doing right by us all. Trek just seems to be particularly polarising. She's committed to Trek for the duration now, which means two more vids from Season 6, three from Season 7, then the four TNG movies, followed by the 3 Chris Pine reboots. Like many other people on here, I can't wait for those videos to drop and I'll be a little sad when it all comes to an end, but if it's such a grind for a lot of subscribers on the channel, I'm happy for those drops to be a little farther apart. I'm not going to put my weight behind banning more Trek in the respectfully-distant future (the show is too iconic and has too many fans), but I do think Cassie should think long and hard before committing to any other multi-season, 26-episodes-each, mega-series. The mini-series' she normally watches (max 10 episodes) are far more conducive and wouldn't tie up the channel for months on end.

Clarence Newman

You would love Season 6 episode Lessons

gulltherizul

Enough with the star trek!!! LolπŸ€·β€β™‚οΈπŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

Jay505

50+ hours of a show I'm guessing you can't skip around on (and, what, two or three spin-offs?). That is more than this Trek nightmare so far, and Trek has been going on for 8 months already. How about we take a break from long-ass series for a while, several decades would be my preference.

Mike Lemon

Next series I would love you to try is 'YELLOWSTONE'!!!!!!!

Jay505

Yeah, that was 10 years earlier. I love Scotty, but prefer watching him when was younger, especially in the TOS episodes.

Clay F

Scotty was deceptively robust. Remember in Wrath of Khan when he carried the dying crewman all the way from engineering to the bridge just to give Kirk a what-the-freak-just-happened speech? That's quite a journey with 160-odd pounds hanging off your arms. They don't make them like Scotty anymore.

Clarence Newman

Only Cassie could make the phrase "Your mother's foolhardy" into a triumphant burn. And speaking of burns, the look she gives Jellico when he walks into the shuttlepod would've killed him if she hadn't been watching a rerun.

Clarence Newman

Agreed. Though an honorobale mention would be Rene Zellweger, in Cinderella Man, having to say the line "Jimmy, you're the champion of my heart!" with a straight face.

Clarence Newman

Ah wouldn't that be bliss? Kind of like falling asleep in a puppy pen.

Clarence Newman

I'm not sure it's villification, Joe. Jellico is deliberately designed to be an unlikable character and Ronny Cox plays him perfectly. As a fan of the show, I disliked Jellico intensely, but loved Ronny's performance. I don't think the writers wanted to risk slotting a new captain in that we'd get attached to because Picard was always going to return. All around, Chain of Command is a great episode, and Jellico's character is a big part of that.

Clarence Newman

I hope she watches Picard after the movies. To be honest it wraps up a lot of open plot points from TNG, DS9 and Voyager. Oh also she should watch those. The Kelvin timeline is fine but if I were her I’d look at all the other series. Star Trek is in a golden age and I’m certain she will love what’s out there!

Everderp

If you’re gonna watch the second one it would probably be best to watch the real version yourself, put that up and do a second one with your sister. Her not being able to handle stuff and turning away take away from your reaction.

Goofaman

Joe I certainly am no big Jellico fan but the video link I posted in this thread I think you might appreciate

Joe

I've always felt sorry for Jellico. He did exactly what Starfleet sent him to do: ready Enterprise for combat and quash an immediate threat. Everything he did was for that purpose, and his strategy worked perfectly. Yet, everybody complains and acts like he's some horrible monster. He's certainly not a nice guy, but he doesn't deserve anything close to the vilification that he gets. Also, fun fact: Jellico ordering Troi to wear a standard uniform was written to accommodate Marina Sirtis. She had asked the show runners to give her a uniform because she was tired of prancing around in V-necks.

THERE ARE 4 LIGHTS !!!

john reed

so I take ir you don't like captain jelico then . ha ha. !!

john reed

Dying for y'all to get to the movies. You could spend the rest of your life lost in Trek episodes lbh

Odd Thomas

Such incredible good acting in Chain of Command. I know Scotty was retiring when he got stuck, but did Starfleet have any physical fitness requirements?

Clay F

It's like when I catch up with people I knew at university. In my head I still expect them to look the same because it doesn't seem a long time ago, but its over 20 years now and when I see how people have aged its a shock, even though I know better.

Chris Clarke

Not a fan of Chain, there were much better episodes. I do enjoy your reaction though. Thanks.

Korny

In my personal opinion, Picard yelling β€œThere! Are! FOUR! Lights!”, is the single greatest bit of acting Patrick Stewart has ever done. Of everything we’ve seen him do, that moment was the one that I think anyone in his position would have reacted the same way.

TeenTyrant

Engineering suspension of disbelief broken! πŸ˜‚

John Sullivan

So the writers got lazy? πŸ˜‹

John Sullivan

Patrick Stewart not winning an Emmy for Chain of Command pt. 2 is a travesty.

Shad Kanyak

Your absolute disdain for Captain Jellico is spectacular and a joy. I think most Star Trek fans despise him too. But his short stint was part of a longer term effort to introduce more realistic personality differences into the Star Trek franchise, including bad, negative people who are working on the "good" side. That is somewhat the opposite of Gene Roddenberry's original "rules" for Star Trek, which included no serious conflicts within Starfleet. He always enjoyed showing Starfleet admirals and Federation administrators who were bad, but only in a borderline comical way. Jellico is different. He's not a caricature. And there are people like this in every real-life large organization, even the really good ones. And including them in Star Trek in later seasons and series of the franchise improved it a lot.

Andrew Pulrang

I never noticed before that even Scotty uses jiggawatts

SnabbKassa

My daughter is going to be so excited when I tell her it's finally time for these episodes. We've been waiting not so patiently for this day! :-)

I know what I'm watching tonight!
