But I grew up watching that on DVD at home while this one was the big new film in theaters when I was like 16. And I have great memories seeing it in high school with my family and the whole crowd loved it.

2023-12-05 23:39:43 +0000 UTCAs someone who works for the federal government in IT Security, the “hacking” in this movie is complete hogwash gobblety-goop. It is laughably bad. The internet does not work like that. The same goes for The Net (1995) with Sandra Bullock and Hackers (1995) with Angelina Jolie both of which I suggest. Even knowing that they are all guilty pleasures. If you want to see actual live IT exploits and real hacking techniques I recommend season 1 of Mr. Robot (2015).
