Hey friends, aren't you glad we live in a world where there are Octobers!
Hope you had a wonderful weekend. We went to the mountains on Sunday and I felt like a victorian feeble, ailing child being brought to the sea to be healed. The mountain air felt SO good. I know that sounds corny but being up there surrounded by actual fall GORGEOUSNESS was good for the soul. I am finally feeling much better, and thankfully can now laugh without a coughing fit-just in time for all the funny, lighthearted movies i'll be watching this month ;)
I made a mistake with the poll yesterday, I meant to end it tomorrow (Wednesday) but I picked next Wednesday, that has been fixed, so one day left to VOTE!
We are going to have a package party live this month on 10/14-thats kinda SOON! Save the DATE!
Coming up this month we have Tucker and Dale, Identity, Scream and a few surprises, there will be another poll or two coming as well!
Tell me something you are excited about this month!
<3 Cassie Pop

I agree the 1986 version is so graphic

2023-10-08 15:09:10 +0000 UTCWhy even bother, if you put Scream on that poll you know it will win. Even though every other film in that poll is a much better film.
Richard Maurer
2023-10-07 16:30:19 +0000 UTCThat's not the movie people voted for. I have no problem with the 58 version but it needs to win a poll on it's own. In fact it's one of many films I recommended for the classic horror poll I've been asking Cassie to do. And seeing as how the poll was so close I do think it would be wrong not to watch the 86 version. I know for me, I doubt if I'll even bother watching the YT version of Arachnophobia (and not because I fear spiders, if you couldn't tell from my avatar), but I'd be there for the full reaction to The Fly. Just because some don't like this version of The Fly doesn't change the fact many do.
Richard Maurer
2023-10-07 15:51:02 +0000 UTCI hope Cassie does NOT watch "The Fly (1986)." If there is a "The Fly" to be watched, it should be the 1958 version.
Michael Gilbrook
2023-10-07 01:29:08 +0000 UTCIt's the best and most important movie she's watching this Halloween. Can't wait either.
Richard Maurer
2023-10-06 03:37:59 +0000 UTCYeah, that kinda sucks. I mean if someone actually gets out of line you've always been able to report them. Being able to block someone on a whim seems pretty unnecessary. I promise I will never block anyone here. Although I would block someone who blocked me on principal, but if you have to click on their name to block them I don't see how that's possible.
Richard Maurer
2023-10-06 03:31:19 +0000 UTCNo kidding around, she will love The Mummy. Comedy-Adventure, Horror-Lite, with a dash of romance
Carswell
2023-10-06 03:03:11 +0000 UTCThe Thing!!!! Can't wait
Carswell
2023-10-06 02:58:23 +0000 UTCApparently you can block people. You have to click their name, then on that page is the block option. I really hate that that is an option.

2023-10-05 22:18:22 +0000 UTCWe've been having a discussion on the merits of protecting Cassie (him) vs letting her watch challenging movies (me). While it started to get a little heated I didn't think it was that bad. But the last exchange we had he claimed I was disparaging patrons and I pointed out to him that saying that the people who vote for these movies just want to hurt Cassie (which he has said on a number of occasions) was actually disparaging, and that he should go look in a mirror. I really don't think it was that harsh, but maybe it bothered him more than I intended.

2023-10-05 13:21:22 +0000 UTCI thought about giving it a rest when it comes to asking for Classic Horror and Asian Martial Arts polls. Then I thought Naaaaah.

2023-10-05 12:42:53 +0000 UTCI wonder if he can still see mine? That would be BS if he can because he could comment on my posts without me knowing it.
Richard Maurer
2023-10-05 12:26:19 +0000 UTCI am looking forward to lots of black and white slo-mo replays of Cassie tossing lip balm or blankets in the air. Lots of "friggs" or "frick".

2023-10-05 05:52:11 +0000 UTCI would love it to be a duo reaction.

Richard Maurer
2023-10-04 12:33:43 +0000 UTCIdentity, I've watched but can't remember a thing about it, great cast though. The Mummy is a great adventure film. Brendan Frasier at his peak. Cassie. I hope after this you'll try and put some time aside to watch his Oscar winning performance in The Whale later in the coming months. I was the first to pick it in the PIB database, I don't think many others have, but it's such a great story and an amazing return to the top after all that he went through.

2023-10-04 04:49:03 +0000 UTCI avoid slasher movies with very few exceptions. I suppose "The Shining" would quaify with "Here's Johnny!" Few under the age of 40 would even know that refers to talk show host Johnny Carson. I do like horror movie spoofs i.e. Scary Movie series.
Paul Rich
2023-10-04 03:41:05 +0000 UTCWhat are you doing Cassie? Watching a great movie that some people keep trying to convince you is worse than it really is.

2023-10-04 01:27:13 +0000 UTCI for one believe you should do a slasher poll with Friday 13th (1980), Scream (1997), Wolf Creek (2005) Suspiria (1977) The Strangers (2008) Black Christmas (1974)

2023-10-03 20:56:32 +0000 UTCI visited Rome back in the 90s. Wonderful city. Received a blessing from Pope John Paul II and then went inside St. Peters and the Sistine Chapel....I stumbled upon the Spanish Steps quite by accident. I later come to find out the poet John Keats lived in an apartment just off the Steps. He was there on the advice of a friend to relieve his tuberculosis. Alas, it was too little too late. Keats is now buried in a Rome cemetery. He's one of my favorite poets.

I cannot believe you've watched THE THING, you must be braver than me because I cannot bring myself to watch it, not that I'm scared of it, I've seen scenes and it just weirds me out! The one thing I'm excited for the most is seeing your reaction to THE MUMMY '99, I hope you got my package with the matching t-shirts for you and Carly, I love that movie! CLUE, I know the game, never played it, and I know the movie, never seen it lol! Really enjoyed your ZOMBIELAND reaction, that was great! ZODIAC, never seen it, yet I know what it's about! TUCKER & DALE VS EVIL, never seen it but know of it, never even heard of IDENTITY, and SCREAM that's a classic! I'm so happy to hear you're feeling better Cassie, I totally get it when you say "the mountain air felt SO good" I get it! I don't think I'll be able to make it for the Live Package Party on 10/14, I work that day😭 but I might try and stop by during like a break or something lol! Like I told you during your Indy 4 premiere, I already got a jump start on early Christmas shopping for you and Carly, so when I send them out to you, that will be a livestream I will not miss lol! Hope you have great day Cassie, love and support always, I'm really excited for your reaction to THE MUMMY, glad you're feeling better, [virtual hug] God bless you, Carly, and your family! 2023-10-03 18:47:58 +0000 UTC@Bill Maurer I agree 100% about “The Thing From Another World.” Although I prefer Carpenter’s take on “Who Goes There?”, The Thing From Another World is a fantastic movie in its own right. 2023-10-03 17:57:15 +0000 UTCI can't wait to watch THE THING reaction (the 1982 version, of course). It's not something I ever asked or pushed for, but I'm really curious about that reaction. I don't like horror movies much, they are actually my least favorite genre, but THE THING is my favorite horror movie. Also looking forward to THE MUMMY. I really enjoy the first movie and I hope it would make for a great, fun reaction. I believe even Carly would enjoy it. Another movie I'm super excited for is TUCKER & DALE VS EVIL. It's one of the best horror comedies on my list. It's hilarious and clever, but also very gory, so it might not be Carly's cup of tea. What else I'm excited about? Maybe we'll be getting some cooler weather and colorful leaves this month. It's been so hot and sunny here, almost 30°C every day. This was the warmest September in history for our country, according to the weather reports. I can't wait for some crisp autumn air and cozy sweaters. Typically, September used to be rainy followed by an Indian summer in early October (or "summer of old/crone women" how it's called here).

2023-10-03 17:53:44 +0000 UTCI think the original "Thing from Another World" should be on her list. Classic Sci Fi film

2023-10-03 17:53:42 +0000 UTCThe Thing is happening !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There are several scenes that will make her jump off her sheets. Looking forward to this as much as her watching "The Searchers" !! (If that EVER happens).

2023-10-03 17:50:20 +0000 UTCI'm excited about my trip to Rome this month, which is actually happening right now. Today I visited, amongst a lot of other things, the Spanish steps, featured in Roman Holiday. No fall here yet. It's 30C/86F with unrelenting sun. And amazing food.

2023-10-03 17:49:04 +0000 UTCGlad you are on the mend! Not sure who's scarier. The Mummy, The Thing, or The Boogeyman? 👻 Most looking forward to our annual Halloween block party. We moved our parents to the neighborhood this month and it will be great way to introduce them to everyone. 🎃

2023-10-03 17:49:03 +0000 UTCAgreed completely. It will be a total waste if she watches the wrong version. Everyone has been wanting her to watch the 1982 film, not that forgettable 2011 one.

2023-10-03 17:42:05 +0000 UTCLooking forward to The Mummy reaction with Carly. This film is such an adventurous ride. Dare I say Raiders of the Lost Ark- esque? Developed a crush on Rachel Weiz after watching. Edit: Just watched the video of your road trip on IG and the fall colors are absolutely gorgeous. One of many reasons why fall 🍂🍁 is my favorite season.

2023-10-03 17:42:01 +0000 UTCThat poster is from the 2011 movie, which is not the one everyone wants her to watch. Cassie, please watch the 1982 version!

2023-10-03 17:40:55 +0000 UTCCassie, don't watch The Thing. But since you're going to, definitely watch the 1982 classic. I'm so sorry. But this should be hilarious...for us, you will definitely not be amused.

2023-10-03 17:35:31 +0000 UTCYes so happy you’re going to watch Tucker & Dale, Identity is also a underrated gem. Not watched the Mummy in a while so really looking forward to rewatching it. Very interested to know what surprises you have lined up but it’s looking like a great month of movies on your Patreon. But we will definitely forgive you if you want to watch a few Romcoms at the star of November 😂, a few I’d recommend if you haven’t seen them is Cocktail, Doc Hollywood, Pretty Woman, Something’s Gotta Give, Blind Date (1987) and Bird on a Wire.

2023-10-03 17:34:02 +0000 UTCI'm dreading/looking forward to The Thing. I've heard so many good things but have managed to put it off because of my dislike for most horror. I'll accept watching it with you though and be right there with you for whatever that movie offers in scares

2023-10-03 17:33:58 +0000 UTCSome great movies coming up. THE THING is a sci-fi horror masterpiece from Master filmmaker John Carpenter (HALLOWEEN). Don't know whether you'll like it or not (I doubt it), but it's definitely worth seeing. THE MUMMY will be a ton of fun. Yes, it's a remake of a classic Universal monster movie, but it's more of a high-spirited and goofy action-adventure in the spirit of Indiana Jones... and it has Brendan Fraser in it no less! Of all the upcoming films, this one is the most "Carly safe." I love DALE & TUCKER VS. EVIL. It's more like ZOMBIELAND in that it's a clever horror-comedy satire. I think you'll ultimately enjoy it too. And speaking of horror satires, pleased to see you're finally doing the iconic SCREAM. It's a hugely significant entry into the genre. Wes Craven (the man responsible for Freddy Krueger) reinvigorated horror in the 90s in an impactful self-aware way with that intelligent, scary and often funny horror classic. IDENTITY should be fun too. From director James Mangold (3:10 TO YUMA and FORD V. FERRARI) comes a creepy, atmospheric suspense-thriller mystery with some neat surprises that'll keep you guessing. I saw it in the theater and I've always liked it. Carly might even be able to join you for that one too. Anyway, definitely going to be an eventful next couple of weeks. Looking forward to it. :-)

2023-10-03 17:31:19 +0000 UTC90% of the time when a reactor is told that the consensus opinion about something is bad, they end up thinking it's fine. I'm sure the Thing 2011 is not exception.

2023-10-03 17:27:39 +0000 UTCFresh air does the soul (and lungs) good. I'm so happy you've recovered. What are we up to in October? Oh, the usual. Halloween decorations and stockpiling candy for the neighborhood Rugrats. In November we journey to London for a vacation. It has gradually become a home away from home.

2023-10-03 17:24:56 +0000 UTCMeh. Wish John Wick would’ve been done either before or after October as it’s taking a spot from a more fitting movie. The Thing is a classic, I love John Carpenter, but for some reason it never really moved me like it should’ve🤷🏻♂️ I also don’t really associate it with Halloween. Definitely excited about The Mummy. Although it’s not horror, we’ll allow it because it’s so good and fun. Also definitely stoked about SCREAM. Minor detail that you’ve been told before, but the opening of Scream reveals a big spoiler about Friday The 13th. So you might as well knock out another classic and watch Friday The 13th first. Apart from the general excitement about my favorite month, I’m looking forward to taking a trip to Verona, Italy with my U12 Fútbol team to play an international tournament! Unfortunately, I’ll probably miss the live as it’s a 17 hour bus ride on that day😬

2023-10-03 17:22:18 +0000 UTCTucker and Dale? Been seeing reactions for this and it looks hilarious. Other than the gore factor, that is one I think Carly would love. Has Alan Tudyk in it as well (Wash from the sci fi show you watched. My mind draws a blank on the name. Serenity ai think was the movie)

2023-10-03 17:21:10 +0000 UTCQUITE. A. WEEK. I'm genuinely excited for your THING reaction. I'm not a big horror movie fan. Never have been. But I absolutely love this movie for some reason. The characters? Kurt? The vibe? All those things? I dunno...but I've always loved this movie. Hope you, at the very least, appreciate it.

2023-10-03 17:21:01 +0000 UTCSo excited for The Thing and The Mummy. The Thing is great, practical effect horror and suspense and The Mummy feels like a spiritual successor to Indiana Jones thought not quite Indy level its still really fun.

2023-10-03 17:19:49 +0000 UTCIt is so good to hear that you are feeling better. Looks like it will be an interesting month, looking forward to all of it, especially The Mummy and the surprises you have in store for us. I am excited for baked caramel apples and hayrides, getting the sweaters and comforters out, and the smell of a campfire or two. And very excited for new things at the end of the month and for new and exciting things here with the PiB crew.

2023-10-03 17:19:11 +0000 UTCMost excited about in October? It is our yearly trip to Florida for the GA/FL football game. We rent a condo and have a week long tailgate! 2023-10-03 17:18:42 +0000 UTCWell October is my birthday month so I’m excited for that. Not excited to older but thankful to be here and to get to spend a fun night with my girlfriends. I was suppose to be a Halloween baby but came 2 days early lol This is the my favorite time of year and being a horror lover I have waited 11 months for you to watch some of these movies. Glad you are feeling better Cassie and I can’t tell you how excited I am for you to dive into the scream franchise. I actually think you will like it. Lots of surprises. Please tell me you are going haunting of hill house? Please? It would be a crime to miss that great miniseries. It’s way more emotional and heartfelt than it is scary. And not gory at all. Should be a fun month for me at least 😋You’ve made some great picks so far. Hope everyone has a great week. Gotta get back to work. 🎃🍁
