[YT Edit] Barbie (2023)

Hey guys! Here's the YT edit for Barbie, which will premiere in a few hours. Hope you enjoy!

Here is the full reaction to this movie.

[YT Edit] Barbie (2023)

Comments

It really is a perfect movie. Surprisingly emotional and moving… inspiring and funny. It had quite a few tearful moments when I saw it first time at the cinema. It really does do a good job of stealthily holding a mirror up to the world we live in.

Ria Grix

I saw the movie. It was cute but way too long

Lisa

If you are serious, I highly recommend it. I used to go crazy looking for the earmuffs in my wood shop that I put down somewhere but they all blended into the background. I got pink ones and never had the problem again. Now I have pink for all of them.

Mike Lemon

Also just wanted to add that your reaction to the scene where someone mansplains The Godfather was as funny and meta as anything in the movie….

I have the high decibel-cancelling black cans. I may paint them pink to make them easier to find!

Seeing the YT edit of your reaction inspired me to go watch the whole movie. What a wise, beautiful and hilarious film. It’s interesting that you bring up Inside Out because it feels like the kind of Pixar movie Pixar doesn’t make anymore; thematically it’s not unlike Toy Story. Weirdly it also reminded me a bit of Mad Men and those Don Draper speeches about our emotional connection to brands and the primal feelings targeted by advertisers. And it speaks eloquently to the post-pandemic, post-#MeToo moment when everything we used to think defined us can be questioned. What are we made for? A “career” that is really just a way for an employer to exploit you by giving you the illusion that you’re living your dream? A society and culture that enables and celebrates those who exploit others the most? Relationships that begin determined to break patterns of mutual exploitation just to ultimately perpetuate them? Having children who will take the positive lessons you teach them about relationships and apply them to everyone except you, who they will never fully appreciate until you’re gone? And why, as a man, DO I feel so useless and unwanted these days? (I promise I won’t play my guitar at you, but I do play the cello…) Anyway while I loved the film I think your 40 minute edit with your commentary might actually be better than the original; faster paced, you got everything that mattered, and your perspective deepened the experience. (But now you really have to see 2001: A Space Odyssey so you can fully appreciate the beginning of the movie.) Thank you for your great work.

This might be one of the only PIB reactions I DON'T watch. I saw another's reaction and it really kinda confirmed my initial reaction to the trailer. Not for me at all

Orcagirl78

I was literally watching Maverick while my wife watched Barbie lol

Daniel W

All my hearing protection, and only my hearing protection, is pink, that way it is always easy to find.

Mike Lemon

Carly and Cassie fit right into the set with their Barbie outfits. They looked like part of the cast!

Jeffery Parks

Don’t know if I started it or my parents, but the term I used was “Men,” as in playing with my “Men.”

Larry Darrell

I fell asleep in the theater when my wife wanted to see it, and now (for the first time) I fell asleep while the PIB ladies watched it. Had to re-watch Maverick as a treatment.

Bert Towle

Cassie needs to see… I, Tonya (2017)

Thank you for saving me from having to spend any money on this movie and see enough of it to understand it.

Richard Bourne

The toy companies coined "action figure" since boys playing with dolls wasn't considered to be good marketing. I grew up with GI Joe stuff and that was cool, esp. all the guns, the tank, the jeep, and the attack helicopter.

Richard Bourne

Were boys calling them "action figures" or was that toy companies doing that? It's difficult to think of what toys that boys would play with would be considered action figures as opposed to dolls.

Mark Vaderr

My favorite part of this film is how, before Barbie, little girls were forced to have only "baby" dolls at the same time the boys were calling their dolls "action figures". Sort of diary vs journal type of thing. A very refreshing progressive movie, two thumbs up, in my opinion....... Just sayin'.......💛💛

james flack

Pleasantly surprised by the original comedy and storyline. The filmmakers took a subject that had an above average opportunity to flop and made something inventive and lasting. Cheers!

Jeffery Parks

I love this movie and y'all did such a great reaction, thanks for taking us along, also Greta Gerwig's version of Little Women is just such a joy. That would be a great Christmas movie, hint hint!

Morgan A. Colbert

Hmm, what do I own that is pink?...(that would be nothing).

I think your reactions will make this fun.
