Has anyone else on Patreon suggested Cassie watch Loaded Weapon 1 yet? The parody of this movie? It even has a HUGE cameo from a similar film series!

YodatheHobbit

I hope you watched the credits and got to see all the pictures of them

Eric Wallace

Also it would be fun to see you check out some Jet Li movies now! This was his first Hollywood movie after being mainly in Hong Kong action films, I believe it was his first time playing a villain as well. Jet Li is insane with martial arts, he’s practiced Wushu Kung fu since he was 8 years old!!

Gilbert Gonzalez

Can’t wait for the next one! There’s is a 5th and final Lethal Weapon on the way, Mel Gibson took over directing as well, after the franchise director Richard Donner passed away. It’s been said to start filming this year!

Gilbert Gonzalez

When does the shorter version come out

mondawmin mall

1, 2, 4, 3 is my order. I was so excited to see Jet Li in a western movie when I saw this trailer on TV. I'm a little sad your first introduction to him was a villain. Some other movies where he is the protagonist are The One and Romeo Must Die. I think Fist of Legend is my fav, though. I felt at the time it was a big deal for him to be in this movie. One of the best martial artist of his generation. There is a comedy movie called Gone Fishing with Danny Glover and Joe Pesci which is not very good but it is fun to see them reunited and I always think of it (in my head-cannon) as Leo and Murtaugh on a vacay after this movie while Riggs is on maternity leave and the house is being rebuilt.

Christian Rennie

It’s one of the few franchises I really like all of them, but my ranking would be 2, 1, 4 and then 3. These are probably the best buddy cop films but Beverly Hills Cop 1&2, Rush Hour & Bad Boys are pretty good as well. Last Action Hero is a really fun action comedy that’s a bit cheesy and doesn’t that’s it’s self to serious. Also welcome to Jet Li he’s obviously the guy who kick everyone’s ass lol.

Dean Holt

Ranked. 1,2,4,3. the origin is my favorite. the introduction into the family. it's funny that you wondered about Predator 2, basically Predator 2 is Roger Murtaugh vs. the Predator. Danny Glover i think did Predator 2 between lethal weapon 2 and lethal weapon 3.

Jimmy Reyes

The rabbi at the end was Richard Libertini, one of the funniest men in movies! You'd love him in THE IN-LAWS (1979). James Hong is in that one, too!

Ben Livingstone

I will always second a Last Action Hero.

Erik Daniel

For some reason I was thinking this came out in 1995. Not sure why. My bad memory. I didn’t have a cell till 2003 lol I guess those phones Chris rock was using are so old and big I do t even think of them as cell phones. But you are right. Although you never see Riggs or murtuagh use a cell phone in the movie lol they should’ve had them for sure.

brooke atkins

This was released in 1998 and cell phones did exist. There is a whole scene w/ Joe Pesci and Chris Rock in the movie in which they are yelling about cell phones.

Brent Petty

Who would have thought that Froggy story would have that ending and message? Man, I have tears every time. This was the most Heartfelt one of the 4. It’s inching its way toward the top of my ranking every time I watch it. Had a thought during the Car Chase scene. I think it’s time Cassie watched Last Action Hero (1993).

Larry Darrell

Richard Donner also directed The Goonies (1985) and Scrooged (1988) which I believe Cassie has seen.

Larry Darrell

Such a silly movie, so full of clichés, you really need to turn your brain off. And yet, it gives that warm welcoming class reunion vibes, where everybody is just having fun. Glover and Gibson have such great besties vibes and Jet Li has such fantastic Martial Arts skills and such a charismatic presence, that still makes for an entertaining movie. Although it is made in the mid-nineties, it probably is the last eighties action comedy with it's typical weird mix of extremely brutal violence and silly humor. 🙂

silverarrow06

I've never understood the hate for Lethal Weapon 4, I love it. I think LW3 edges it out as my favorite, but LW4 is so much fun.

Patrick Egan

Glad you enjoyed this one Cassie. I knew you would. That’s why you should never listen to the nay sayers and always watch whatever you want to. I have to say I was very surprised you thought Riggs cheated on Lorna and got rianne pregnant. 🤦‍♀️ my jaw dropped when you said that. Riggs would never. I thought we pretty much established that in the first movie lol you’re a trip 🤣🤣 also at the end gun fight whe. You said call for backup. Um Cassie they can’t lol it’s 1995 when this movie was made. No cells phones. You and Carly seem to forget that in a lot of 90’s movies you watch. No cell phones then. I didn’t get my first till about 2003. This one is my favorite and I’m sorry you do t have more to watch. Maybe part 5 will get made one day. Who knows? Gonna skip out on Indy 4 cause it was a huge disappointment to me. I’ll see ya for John wick 4. Hope you feel better soon. Take care.

brooke atkins

That was perfect. I'm sure I was that was the first time. Like "nah Leo, just leave him be bud". "Froggy?" And then wait for it...heart strings pulled, and pulled hard.

Erik Daniel

"You're not better friends than Froggy, you're just different". Between that and Leo being so happy and proud when Riggs comes back out of the delivery room to thank him. I believe tender, is the proper word. Well I guess I would get shot in the head because I could not rank them. They are all my babies. In my mind they are all 10 out of 10, they just get increasingly more light hearted as Riggs comes out of the darkness. LW 1 is a dark, gritty ACTION/comedy, while the 4th film is a hilarious action/COMEDY family film...with a lot of swearing. I may have said this on a previous LW reaction, but your love for this whole "family" brings me so much joy. These movies were a big part of my family growing up and we loved them all for the same darn reasons (haha "this big darn shark"). Almost forgot. That is the love of my life Rene Russo lol. She had an incredible run in the 90s. I believe you've also seen her in Major League and In The Line Of Fire. in '95/'96, her films were Outbreak, Get Shorty, Tin Cup and Ransom. All great flicks I'm sure you will really enjoy. In Ransom Mel reteams with Rene Russo as well! Alright, I think I'll cut myself off there. That was, so enjoyable, Thanks Cass. Peace! Edit...sorry. Shut your pie hole...I think of Steve Buscemi in Airheads, but you might be thinking Jack Nicholson in Anger Management?

Erik Daniel

It’s funny that you watched ‘Parenthood’ recently and now this. Similar endings celebrating all the odd parts that make a family. Much more action and violence in this case obviously but it’s the same deal in a way. My favorite Lethal Weapon ❤️

Mark Daniels

I think that’s where I land as well.

Cole Jennett

Gun to my head, although I love them all 2 4 1 3

Daryl

Love that movie! Excellent choice!

Johnny Liu

That was very fun to see again, good pick 👍🏽

Omar

If we are going martial arts. Dragon: the Bruce Lee Story. It was banded around for a while before, time for it to be a winner in a poll!

rakesh

Jet Li was a huge star in the 90's I remember thinking he reminded me of Bruce Lee. Only for a short while. This movie came out the year I graduated highschool.

Zachary K. (Verified Swiftie)

I haven’t seen this movie since it first came out and I completely forgot that Chris Rock and Jet Li were in it. I believe the scene where Butters and Leo are going back and forth about cell phones was all improvised. Cassie, you should definitely check out some Jet Li movies. If you think his fighting in this movie was impressive, just wait…

Tara

Mel Gibson * Danny Glover * Rene Russo * Chris Rock 'Lethal Weapon 5' Directed by Mel Gibson 2024

JPDotCom23

My least favourite of the series tbh

Odd Thomas

I love the intensity of Jet Li's performance in this movie. What's even greater is how much presence he has with like 5 or 6 lines of dialogue throughout.

Johnny Liu

Fearless and The One as well! And War with Jason Statham, maybe Cradle 2 the Grave.

Nathan Jasper, the Artist Formerly Known as Primary

O...M...G... Cassie, this is by far my favorite reaction of you watching the Lethal Weapon movies! So many moments I was laughing my head off, both the movie and your reactions, especially the dentist scene, I almost fell out of my chair laughing, that scene is so contagious! GREAT GOOGLEY MOOGLEY LOL🤣 And golly gee-wiz Cassie, that was some cough, hope you're getting better soon! That was a cute shirt you were wearing, "SHUT YOUR PIE HOLE" I liked it🤣 Yeah that sounds like something they would say to Leo lol! Honestly Cassie, like you, I can't rank these movies either because I love these movies as much as you do, it's impossible for me to rank which ones is better or worse than the other! Though if I had to say which is the best for me, I would say 2! My reason is because of that one one-liner Danny Glover says to the main bad guy after he shoots him in the head "It's just been revoked!" I loved that line lol! And of course I just love seeing scenes where Mel Gibson is watching The Three Stooges! Oh my goodness Cassie, thank you so much for the laugh! One really good thing I'll say about this movie is the main villain, Jet Li's character, he is one of the most intimidating villains in the franchise, I mean seeing the way you were spooked by him and all of his kung fu martial arts he was doing, that was priceless! As a matter of fact, I think this was your first introduction to him! Just so you know, Jet Li can portray both good and bad perfectly, there's some good movies he's done in his career where he's a good guy, one of my favorites being The Expendables movies, that's another action movie franchise you should see, since just recently on my birthday of all days, they released the 4th installment lol! Master of kung fu? No way man, for me, nobody can beat Jackie Chan, he's the king! However, respect for Bruce Lee✌ Speaking of which, I highly recommend a kung fu fantasy movie that I know you will love watching and the only movie where these two martial arts legends, Jackie Chan and Jet Li, fight each other and team up, THE FORBIDDEN KINGDOM (2008), it's a great movie! In terms of other buddy cop movies that I recommend you watch/react too! I highly recommend TANGO & CASH (1989), staring Sylvester Stallone and Kurt Russell! And of course one of my personal favorites, the BAD BOYS franchise (1995-2003-2020), staring Will Smith and Martin Lawrence, those are great movies! I was only 10 years old when Leathal Weapon 4 came out lol! I just knew you would happy/cry at the end of this movie, I just knew it, and I loved your reaction! Man oh man, thank you so much for a fun laugh Cassie, the perfect way to end my 35th birthday, totally worth staying up till 4 in the morning lol! Thank you once again for the birthday wishes Cassie, that really made my day, you're a sweetheart! My package should be arriving at your PO Box today, that was fast shipping lol! Hope you and Carly love the matching shirts for when you two watch The Mummy (1999) this upcoming spooky season, make sure to read the card first lol! Thank you so much friend lol, you're the best, I'm so blessed to be a part of this community and watching you react to a lot of my favorite movies growing up as a kid! Love and support always, [virtual hug] God bless you, Carly, and your family! And as always [snaps fingers & winks] stay classy Cassie🥰😁😉😇🙏👍🌹

Wesley White

1 and 2 are close, but the original takes it. 3 is fine. 4 is bad, except when Jet Li is on screen, then it's great.

Gene Crossin

1, 4, 2, and 3 here. I think the villain in 3 is the weakest of any of the films, and the villain makes/breaks action films for me.

Brent Petty

Gun to my head this is my ranking: 4- only because of nostalgia when i was 11 back in 99 my mom got a dvd player from sears and it came with 4 free dvds and lethal weapon 4 was one of them so it was my first 3- riggs and murtaugh come to terms with their relationship actually is always gets me 1- classic, no other reason 2- still great with one of my favorite bad guy groups but again honestly this ranking is like less than a 1% margin- this whole franchise is magic and I love all of them for different reasons.

LuMarq

You mentioned that Danny Glover still looked the same. He as actually a lot younger than his character. The first movie starts on Roger's 50th birthday, but he was only 40 when the movie came out, so he might have only been 39 when they shot it. I've heard that he complained about these movies costing him some roles because everyone thought he was so old.

Jake Dinkel

Funny she didn’t want him to say anything to Riggs. That’s why you gotta be patient in movies. Never know what you’re gonna get.

brooke atkins

Awesome reaction sweet lady. The Lethal Weapon series is one of the best ever. Every movie is very good to great. I haven’t watched this one in years and forgot how good it was. It would be difficult to rank them because each had their individual special moments. But this is to me is the most complete one…it had it all. I really hope they make a last one well all the main actors are still around.

Jeffrey Smith

I love these movies. To me they got better with each installment. 4 is my favorite of them. I loved Lorna, she was such a great addition in 3. Leo was funnier each time. Just got better and better. I knew she'd enjoy this one a lot because of Riggs and Lorna. This was a great reaction. I'm glad you enjoy these films. This franchise is one of my faves.

DM DC

I know right .. It's sad that their isn't just one more but I love all these movies. Now you get the inside joke in Maverick where Danny Glover robs the bank 😀

Johnny Salinas

Oh this is just the best treat after a long work day. I can't wait to see your reaction to the froggy speech.

Erik Daniel

Now that you've seen all the Lethal Weapon's. It's time for National Lampoon's Loaded Weapon 1 (1993). The spoof/parody with Emilio Estevez and Samuel L. Jackson. 😄

Zane From Canada

Yes this is such a good franchise

Jonathan Hall

Kevin Costner, and Renee Russo (the girl) star together in Tin Cup. A great sports rom-com

Bill Hayden

Great movie. Great series. Great Reaction. I would rank them 2, 3, 4 & 1. I am glad you loved this journey as much as I did. It was great watching them become family. That's what makes it such a great movie series.

Rick Williams

Are you ok Cassie? You have had the cough for a while. Your reaction was another great one. You take care of yourself though. I really mean that.

Zachary K. (Verified Swiftie)

My favorite behind the scenes fact was that they had trouble choreographing the fight scenes between Jet Li and Mel because Jet was so fast that Mel couldn't block him. They had to keep slowing down Jet. He's absolutely amazing and usually the good guy - so you might want to give some of his films a look. Of course, if you did go for a martial art action film, you might want to check out Jackie Chan more - he brings a lot of humor to his roles. Might appeal to you more.

Walter

this really made me happy. I have been asked rating these before and i can't, I love the entire series as a whole, not necessarily because of the individual stories or action but because of the story arc and development of roger, leo, but most importantly riggs. Seeing him just alone on a beach with his dog with everything taken from him and given up on his own life find not only a reason to live but a real family always gets me emotional but the fourth movie. I love that, and for that reason ill always love all of these movies as a series.

MattN

The tone shift from the 1st movie to the sequels always had me wondering what if it stayed a dark edgy cop movie like the 1st one was. The franchise turned to a funny buddy cop movie with some serious moments thrown in from lethal weapon 2 - 4. It was good with 2 and 4 being standouts as some the best in the series IMO. but what if.

Miguel Tapia

If I had to rank them it would be 2, 1/3, 4. But I just love them as a whole and I appreciate how they complement each other as a franchise. The 4th might be the weakest, but I just love the ending so much. It feels like such a happily ever after moment that I'm afraid no sequel would be able to live up to it. This reaction was awesome. I had a bad day today because I was sick at home and feeling awful. I finally started to feel a bit better before the upload, but this movie and reaction really cheered me up. The LW 2 and 3 reactions are already one of my favorites so far and this one is certainly joining them. A little-known fact about the series is that Warner rewarded some of the cast members with Range Rovers after the third film's box office success. The original recipients were Gibson, Silver and Donner, who were supposed to get their cars at a lunch meeting. However, Donner also invited Glover, Pesci, Russo and screenwriter Boam to join them. This forced Warner to quickly locate and buy four more Rovers for the rest of the cast, costing them an extra $300k or so. The studio executives were not pleased with this at the time. But later one of them admitted, this move made it easier to bring them all back for the fourth film, which grossed almost $300 million for the studio.

Gábor Árki

Jet Li

Greggory Shaw

I knew you were going to love this one Cassie!! This one and number 2 are my favorites of the franchise, though I love all four pretty equally.

Andrew Rose

If you do DieHard 4 make sure to watch the Rated R cut. The PG-13 cut is edited so poorly and has a bunch of bad dubbed in jokes

djKENTO

"Maverick" with Mel Gibson and Jodie Foster. Someone with a familiar face robs the bank and the music changes. https://youtu.be/lgRb7ALCwJ0?si=2ADNNq26V2nDCEEn

Ike

I‘m so glad you enjoyed this series as much as I did. Did you know that number 5 is in the making? Get well, Cassie!

Steve Arnold

It’s OK because Mel Gibson is writing the fifth one and he is also a really good Director.

Michael Lynch

This one is hands down my favorite Lethal Weapon and the one I return to when I need a Riggs, Roger and Leo fix. Every Lethal Weapon has an emotional, comedy-is-paused, serious moment. (1) Martin explains to Roger that he is in fact, suicidal. (2) Martin tells Trish the story of the “gold pen” which is really about the night his wife died. (3) On the boat, Roger has an emotional breakdown after defending himself from a teenager and Riggs explains what Roger’s retirement will mean for him. (4) There were two moments: a) Riggs explains that his marriage to Victoria-Lynn isn’t finished. b) LEO appearing as an Angel to explain to Martin that he and Roger are here and alive; they are his friends and his family. Not better, Just different. I love this series!! And I love those moments as much as the action, comedy, and suspenseful detective work. None of it is perfect cinematically, but it is the perfect blend of everything and the benchmark for all buddy cop movies.

Ike

Sadly Richard Donner who directed all of Lethal Weapon movies has since passed away. He also directed Maverick & Superman which Cassie has seen and also did The Omen which will hopefully get a chance in October. I rank the movies 2, 1, 4, 3. But I love them all.

Shawn Kildal

I loved watching this series with you, I may actually like this one the best because the ensemble is all here and it has by far the best villain in the series IMO

Choof

Bloody marvelous!

Brent Petty

Jet Li was my favorite villain of the series without question; 1 and 2 are probably equal for me, then 4, then 3 is my least favorite; they’re not too old for this…!

JL_83

I just love watching Cassie react to movies that she really loves. Her reactions are just so pure.

Brian McGovern

Nice, can't wait to watch this! Yes I have to work today in a couple of hours from now lol! But I'll be sure to leave a commentary later tonight when I get home! Haha, I know you might think this is shameful that I have to work on my birthday today, but that's what happens when we're short-handed a couple of dishwashers because they went back to their native land in the Philippines for a few weeks lol, but it's all good! I could use a little extra money lol! So, I'll watch this tonight when I get home, leave my commentary, and enjoy your always awesome reaction to it lol! Like I said, I sent out my package to you yesterday and they said it should be there by Saturday, wow that's quick lol! Hope you like the matching shirts for you and Carly for when you two watch/react to The Mummy (1999) this coming Spooky Season lol! And a perfect Halloween card to go with them lol! Thank you so much for the birthday wishes Cassie, you're a sweetheart and the best, and I'm so blessed to be a part of this community! Thank you friend lol! Love and support, have a great Friday, [virtual hug] God bless you, Carly, and your family🥰😁😉😇🙏👍🌹

This is a nostalgic childhood favorite of mine and I was way too young when I first saw it. It was one of those DVDs that we had lying around growing up. It was a time when DVDs were still a relatively new thing and they came in interesting forms. This one had one disc but double sides, one with the movie, the other with the special features. As a kid I didn't know any context for the film. Didn't see any of the previous ones. But I remember just constantly tearing through the film and the special features on repeat. I think I just found the characters so entertaining I got hooked. Honestly I think when I first saw it, I was so young I didn't even make the connection that the 4 in the title meant it was the 4th film in a series lol. Wasn't till halfway through college when I decided to start from the beginning and realized this entry was considered the weaker one in the film world. I haven't seen it in more than a decade but I can still vividly remember play by play of my favorite scenes down to the details if I think about it now. Things like from my favorite lines down to the gunshot sound effects, even some of the blatant ADRing I eventually caught on to. Off the bat without rewatching it yet I remember the legendary and hilarious opening, Leo's lines on the boat, about cell phones networks, how no means no lol. the car chase was absolutely insane, the dentists office rofl. Ya let's just say some of the shit that comes out of these characters mouths would absolutely NOT fly today lol. In retrospect I think it's main downfall is the central crime story itself isn't that compelling. But jet li was cool and the ending is truly heartwarming and it just reinforces wat still works in the series and that is the easy chemistry of all the characters. Looking forward to revisiting it with Cassie.

Sahitya

I love all the Lethal Weapons but number 4 has always been my favorite. I’m pretty sure it introduced me to Jet Li and little teenage me thought he was baddest dude to walk the planet.

Jeff Chance

I think they made this movie just for fun,DH4 is a fun ride with a solidly cute 'friends are family' moral....

Celeste McAllister

Ooh! Cassie, did you ever go back and watch the post credit scene in Lethal Weapon 3?

Ike

There is talk of a Lethal Weapon 5 with Gibson directing. We will see if that ever happens

Bill Maurer

BTW Jack Nicholson did say "Shut Your Pie Hole" in Anger Management (2003). 😂

Zane From Canada

Leo's frog story when Riggs was visiting his wife's grave was so touching 🥹

Mike Stevenson

Oh man I am headed home right now. Love these movies.

Michael Lynch

Friend rice, you plick! 😁

Zane From Canada

You should react to some jet li movies cassie, the have awesome martial arts action. Romeo Must die, Kiss of the dragon, and Unleashed are 3 movies that I highly recommend to start!

Edgar Gonzalez

Lethal Weapon 4: More Action. More Laughs. More Thrills. More Tender Moments. I will always love this quadrilogy!

Zane From Canada

Time watch while eating some fly lice
