Kindergarten Cop (1990) - Full Reaction

Well back to school called for this one I think. It turned out to be exactly what I needed! It had a bit of everything, just heartwarming with that 90’s charm! Mr Kimble for president!

Kindergarten Cop (1990) - Full Reaction

Comments

Not sure if it's been said, but Joyce was also Brenda from Advenutes in Babysitting. Thought she was hilarious in that role. This was a goto for me growing up, at the end of the action marathon that is.

JohnnyUtah

No matter how kind you are... German children are kinder. 😁

John Deardurff

Saw this a bunch as a a kid, so definitely a fun nostalgia watch. But as someone who still works at a school, with kids as young as Kindergarten, when my staff played this for kids 8 or 10 years ago, one or two parents weren't too thrilled, given the violence, etc! Times have changed, but still a fun and cute movie!

SeanATX

As much as I love this movie, I love another comedic Arnold movie, Junior, more. It features Pamela Reed (his partner in this movie), Danny Devito (who starred with him in Twins) and Emma Thompson just because she's that awesome. It was also directed by Ivan Reitman.

Singing Wordwright

I knew this would totally be your kind of movie. Great reaction. This movie to me is exactly what you about being able to watch it anytime it was on tv. If it had just started or halfway in, could just sit down and finish watching it. I enjoy watching your reactions to movies like this the most. You seem to light up.

Jeffrey Smith

Now we need to get Adventures in Babysitting (1987) recommendations going.

Larry Darrell

I love this movie. Arnold in a completely different role.I love how he uses his cop training to manage his classroom. I hope you like it.

Mary Alice

Well that was just some heartwarming goodness right there. The movie and the reaction. Especially the fair scene, if that doesn't put a smile on your face you might be smiled out.

Erik Daniel

My older sister took my little sister and I to see this in the theater. When I was like 10 or 11. All of us have fond memories of this movie. 👍👍 Penelope Anne Miller was in this great horror flick called The Relic (1997) For the 90's the CGI was so good.

Zachary K. (Verified Swiftie)

I really liked this movie on rewatch. At first glance, it seemed like nothing but a quirky action vehicle for Arnold. But it was also pretty down-to-earth and even tried to deal with some pretty serious concepts like abandonment, abuse and mental health. Even the "bad guys" ultimately just wanted to be a family. Great reaction from Cassie! 👍

ArsTropica

I know that I shouldn't like The Shadow, but I do!!! It's just so preposterously awesome!

ArsTropica

Interesting development! Kindergarden is incorrect and commonly misspelled in English. The word kindergarten comes from the German language, kinder means child, and garten means garden.

John Cranberry

Should it not be Kindergarden?

John Cranberry

Incorrectly how?

Gábor Árki

I was today years old when I realized Kindergarten was spelt incorrectly.

John Cranberry

Who knew Ghostbusters director Ivan Reitman (RIP) could make an Arnold movie that's so touching and yet still maintain some of that action movie feel lol! I've only seen bits and pieces of this movie, never seen the whole thing till now and I enjoyed it, thanks for making my night Cassie, totally worth staying up late for lol! If I may compliment, I really like that orange shirt you were wearing, looked very pretty on you lol😁 I was only 2 years old when this movie came out lol! HOLY COW, the opening of this movie, I recognized that mall that he was running around in, that's the MainPlace Mall in Santa Ana, CA! My mother worked there as a store manager for many years at this woman's clothing store called Casual Corner, how funny you actually see it in the bottom frame of the shot when the camera's following Arnold when he's on the upper level, makes me wonder if my mother was working there at the time this movie was being filmed lol! My mother would usually bring me to work after I got out of school in my later years of elementary school, I remember getting smothered with affection by my mother's coworkers because they thought I was such a cute little boy, how embarassing lol🤣 Even my mother's boss was very nice lol! Unfortunately these days, Casual Corner no longer exists, but the memories I had at that mall, it was fun! The lead actress, Penelope Ann Miller, now this makes the second movie that I know her from, I mainly knew her from another 90's movie that I highly recommend you react to Cassie, The Shadow, it's good! How funny and fitting, you actually see a Ghostbusters easter egg in this movie, Dominic's bedroom had Ghostbusters pillows on his bed lol! This was really good, your reaction to this movie is priceless as always Cassie, thanks for a good laugh! Happy Monday, love and support always, you (and Carly) are the best, can't wait for your Red Dawn reaction! [virtual hug] God bless you and your family, and as always [snaps fingers & winks] stay classy Cassie🥰😁😉😇🙏👍🌹

Wesley White

after he got money from his body building he bought land in southern California and started a construction business and hired his body building buddies, imagine mr universe and other stoked guys fixing your roof.

zynjams

one of my favorite movies growing up, i would watch this, Harry and the Hendersons, short circuit, and turner and hooch, all of these I would watch them over and over and over, and yes every time this and the others were on TV I watched them. I watch them to this day and remember when the commercial breaks were in all the movies lol.

Ry Jo

Well I was wrong. When a man DOES shave the hair that grows back is stubble. When it becomes a short beard, it is scruff.

Mike LL

I've always loved this movie. I was the same age as these kids when it came out.

Katie Jackson

Thanks Mike for providing answer to this issue I too was having ads break in to some of Cassie's reactions, leave to YouTube (Google) to squeeze another buck out of all of us

R Harper

No reaction of FÅ/SML in sight. 🤪😔🙂

Björn Karlsson

For me, there are two lines that last... "They smell your fear!" and "You're not so tough without your car, are you?" This is my favorite Arnold comedy - and 'Perfect' as a lite-hearted Cassie react!

Terry Yelmene

Just caught that for the first time as well today.

nick bell

I got curious and Google delivered. Here’s an article on where a few of the kindergarten kids are today. EDIT: You have to copy the link and paste into browser, link here doesn’t work for some reason. https://www.lifeandstylemag.com/posts/wait-until-you-see-what-the-kids-from-kindergarten-cop-look-like-today-53721/

Omar

If you want more Arnold comedy he did two movies with Danny Devito, Twins and Junior. They have amazing chemistry as a comedy duo

Neill Shaughness

1. Always makes me chuckle to see Cassie so emotionally invested in a comedy. 2. Didn't know till today watching the credits that the airline stewardess was played by Angela Bassett.

Brent Petty

I went the old fashioned way and download it on my phone like what i had to do the first time

MatthewBrown74m

"Screw your freedom." - Arnold, 2020ish

Mike Lemon

Because Google wants you to either watch ads or pay for Premium. edit- Cassie has said before that she isn't the one putting ads on the full reactions and they are exploring alternatives.

Mike Lemon

Loved this virtual 30-year reunion Arnold and some of the kids did a few years ago. Very cool to see how interested Arnie was in the kids and what they were up to 30 years later. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9A2pr6TQ0-8

Shehab Dawoud

Why are adds popping up on the video?

MatthewBrown74m

I've always loved this movie! Must have seen it 20 times! But I'll be watching it again this afternoon to see Cassie's reaction! Can't wait! 🙂👍🏻 Update: I was right! Great Cassie reaction! Loved it!

'Pappy' Johnston

Or scruff. That's the word she was looking for.

Carol_White

I have a kindergartener and a 2nd grader this year,I'd like to see Arnie train teachers they need positive reinforcement..Arnold Schwarzenegger for a president who actually has a pair..

Celeste McAllister

He's also the kid in Wes Craven's New Nightmare.

Variable38

You too.

Damien beatty

The tiny kid (boys have a ...) was also the youngest kid in Apollo 13 (asking about the door). His other two big movies are Pet Semetary (NOT a "Cassie movie") and Mercury Rising (which is a "Cassie movie").

Mike Lemon

This is one I grew up watching as a kid, though I probably shouldn't have. Another great "back to school" type movie is Mr. Holland's Opus (1995). I went to film school, total waste of time btw, and one of my professors Michael Nolin produced it. Just a great feel good film.

Blake Evans

Right, but remember this was 1990 ... lots of changes since then, and mainly for the worse I think.

Richard Bourne

Who would have thought we would get a proper biology lesson on gender from an Arnold comedy?

David Crabtree

It really is a very good film. It helps highlight the importance of teachers and the long term effects they can have on their students and it’s one of Dreyfus’s best performances in my opinion.

Andrew Hogan

Stubble. When a man doesn't shave, it's called stubble. I knew Cassie would love this one, with all the kids it has a cuteness factor that is off the charts. I like how Kimble says he is from Austria, because that is where Schwarzenegger is from. I think Cassie would enjoy the 3 part documentary on Schwarzenegger on Netfilx, (simply titled "Arnold") because it covers the fact that he had three careers, in bodybuilding, in films, and in politics. Not for Cassie to watch on this channel, but I think she would enjoy the documentary.

Mike LL

Twins is equally fun to watch.

nick bell

"I'm going to lose my mind if he is not okay." ... "Not him!" 😂 Okay, this reaction was mostly what I was hoping for and really needed. It was a fun reaction to watch and put a big smile on my face. Yeah, this movie is not a masterpiece, but it has some fun moments and leaves you with a positive vibe. Fun fact, Dominic was play not one, but two child actors: twins Joseph and Christian Cousins. The reunion video mentioned by MattN: https://youtu.be/9A2pr6TQ0-8 Oregon seems to be a very popular choice of filming location for such lighthearted, family/comedy focused movies and Astoria was a choice for multiple directors. I recommend another fun comedy filmed there: SHORT CIRCUIT (1986).

Gábor Árki

Long time no see 🙂

Björn Karlsson

i like it when you pick your own movies

zynjams

It’s not a tumor.

Bryan Erickson

I like the very old retro Universal beginning. I also liked Pamela Reed and Linda Hunt in this movie, though they had smaller roles.

Richard Bourne

I guess it takes a kindergardener to define the differences between men and women. That scene would certainly not be in the movie if it was made now. Also, notice when they say the pledge of allegiance they leave God in.

Richard Bourne

Fun reaction Cassie! I’m glad you enjoyed the film! It is adorable! I believe the word you were looking for is “scruff”. Not “gruff”. The only “gruff” I know is “McGruff: The Crime Dog” 😀 (Not sure you had McGruff in Canada). Another Arnold movie you may enjoy is Twins.

Robert da Spruce

Great react Cassie! And it's funny you mention how much fun it would be to film this with kids because in the mid 2010s Arnold admitted on one of the late night shows that this movie was his favorite project to work on. In fact, floating around the internet is a pretty fun reunion where Arnold met up with the grownup kids in the movie. I've always loved this one and for me, it never gets old.

MattN

I needed this one today. I've been laid up with a fever the past couple days. 🤒 I'm already feeling better. 😁

Zane From Canada

talk about whiplash in tone. good thing arnold is such a charismatic lead

Wu Sha Ling

Cassie would love that one.

Stick Figure Studios

I’d also like to suggest Mr. Hollands Opus as a return to school movie

Andrew Hogan

I’m actually watching the hacksaw ridge reaction right now and Cassie is practically having a panic attack. Gonna be wild going from this to Kindergarten Cop.

djKENTO

This is such a happy movie! You would also like the comedy 'Junior', also with Arnold.

Priscila

School starts here on the 1st of September. I have always dreaded the national holiday we have on August 20th because of that (St Stephen's Day, commemorating the foundation of the Hungarian state in 1000 AD by Stephen I). It always meant school is just around the corner and summer, with its freedom, spontaneity and joy, was coming to an end. It is always strange for me when people have a hard time picturing Arnold in a comedy because he is really good at it. For me it was the other way around. I've seen him in comedies first as a kid. TWINS was the first I think around age 5-6 which is still my favorite of his comedies, but seen KINDERGARTEN COP and JUNIOR as well on TV. Apart from bits and pieces from COMMANDO (which my dad had a German dubbed VHS of) I've only come to see him in action movies during my mid to late teens.

Gábor Árki

I remember when this was being filmed in my old stomping grounds of Astoria, Oregon. The same town that "The Goonies" was filmed in. When the filming was here it was such a huge event. I think you should come out for a visit sometime, it is a lovely little place on the mouth of the Columbia River.

Damien beatty

Looks like I'm getting less sleep than I thought tonight. This was one of my favorites for awhile, still love it to this day

Ozzy

I have a friend who's a HUGE Schwarzenegger fan. I'll be taking your reaction to his place so we can watch it together!

ROBERT CLARK

Damn… talk about timing. Just as I’m about to go coach my U12 Fútbol team’s match. At least I’ll have something to do in the evening!

Shehab Dawoud

Saw this one SO many times back in the day that I heard it on tv once when I was in another room and immediately knew what it was without even seeing the screen; still a good watch years later…
