Would really like to see a reaction for The Witch and The Lighthouse. But unfortunately it might be just a little too insufferable for Cassie 😕

@ Brian - I've already wrote off the fact that you like musicals and don't like She-hulk as quirky behavior. :)

Richard Maurer

@Richard Maurer - I'm going to write this off as just quirky behavior..... You did like She-Hulk after all. :) But in all seriousness, I understand they aren't everyone's cup of tea. I certainly don't like ALL musicals, just the ones with exceptional writing and music. Saw Six last weekend and thought it was atrocious. Thankfully I'll be seeing Hamilton again in a few weeks and that will make up for it. Just like film, TV, or music, it always comes down to the quality of the writing. It's also very tough to translate a live show to the film medium. Sometimes it's done well, and others not so much.

Brian Jones

That and the original Journey to the center of the earth were always a favorite at my house

Nicole

The Lost Boys and Let the Right One In are good films , but I don't know if it 's going to win . I do hope we get From Dusk till Dawn with George Clooney .

My Fat Butt

@ Brian - LOL, musicals and rom-coms are to me what crosses are to vampires. The only musicals I can remember enjoying are Wizard of Oz (nostalgia) Rocky Horror and the musical episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. My normal reaction to the musical numbers in movies is a desire to yell SHUT UP! Shut up, there might be a good story here if you just SHUT UP!.

Richard Maurer

@Richard Maurer - Don't make me smack you around a bit Richard, grow some culture. :) Little Shop is pretty good. Would honestly like to see reactions to some more musicals as well, but it's so rare to see them put on the big screen. Rent, Hamilton, Les Misérables, Chicago, and Sweeney Todd all come to mind as excellent choices, but they would be a copyright nightmare to post to YouTube.

Brian Jones

I LOVE Misery and Scream! 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽

TheYo Show

Cool. I love the musical and think it's an amazing piece of film that Cassie would definitely love.

Godzilla Jones

I was underwhelmed by it, would prefer the original if forced to watch one or the other.

Richard Maurer

most of em are terrible, Little Shop is glorious

Godzilla Jones

musicals, not a fan

Richard Maurer

You too, You also have my late father's first name, which is kind of weird for me. And I don't hate the 50's version, as older sci-fi films go it's definitely one the better ones.

Richard Maurer

Lots of great stuff here but you gotta add Frank Oz's Little Shop of Horrors before long

Godzilla Jones

heh heh, the "OH MY GOSH" meter is a measure of how many times in a row Cassie says, "OH MY GOSH!" when watching a movie.

Carlos Stevens

I'll advocate all day that Cassie should never watch Event Horizon. She'd need a sedative afterward.

Coleton B.

I read and still have the novella "Who Goes There". I like both versions. Both are classics. Cool last name.

Bill Maurer

The 80's version is vastly superior to the 50's version and is closer to the original novella, Who Goes There?, the source material for both films. I always found the anti-science pro "common sense" theme of the 50's version to be especially grating.

Richard Maurer

The Thing. The original 1950's version and the Kurt Russell 1980's one as well.

Bill Maurer

If you’re looking for “scary but not too scary” Scream (1996) would certainly fit that category, even though I’m not a fan of that franchise. Hopefully Misery is on the radar as well.

Joe M

Yeah, EVENT HORIZON is pretty good. I don’t know that it’s a 10 in any category but…🤷‍♂️

Jason Chirevas

Y'all don't know what scary is. If we're walking down this road...Cassie needs to watch the movie "Event Horizon." It will be a 10 on the 'OH MY GOSH' meter.

Carlos Stevens

The film that showed me what the actor who provided Scrooge McDuck's voice (Alan Young) looked like in real life. Interestingly, he also appeared in the (inferior) remake.

Stick Figure Studios

One of my favorite movies growing up! Another great Rod Taylor performance, and maybe the sweetest friendship ever put on film!

Ben Livingstone

the original Time Machine would be a great watch

zynjams

As much as I love Anton. Can't beat the original Chris Surrandon Fright Night.

Joshua s. Jackson

I adore Fright Night 2011… It’ll never win a poll tho.
