My Cousin Vinny - Full Reaction

Comments

"They're having a baby!" - "They're getting married!" "A good time and a new faith from the best in a comedy and a courtroom movie." Cassie loved it and all of us had a great time.

Terry Yelmene

I'm pretty good at that "name this actor in another role" game and I never caught this one. Embarrassing now that you've pointed it out. Not sure how I missed it.

Tater

Thank you!

Philip Alan

Sorry, it should be working now!!

Cassie

Download link not working! :)

Philip Alan

Marisa Tomei made this movie for me.. She won an oscar for this role too.

Ryan Towell

This is a pretty great reaction video for My Cousin Vinny by a real lawyer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a1I7QBCHqng&list=WL&index=6

Walter

Thanks! One of my favorite reactions!

Rainbow Dash

Okay, it should be good to go! The quality may be back for another hour or two, but should get better. Thanks again for letting me know!

Cassie

Thanks for letting me know! Getting it fixed right now, check back in about an hour!

Cassie

I think the links are broken now. 😢

Rainbow Dash

Marisa Tomei and Joe Pesci are so incredibly funny together, there's some great energy between them.

Pand

I haven't seen this movie in a long time. I forgot how good it was. Great reaction, Cassie. Thanks for helping me rediscover these great movies through your reactions.

Rick Williams

Almost as bad as "Whose Wyatt Earp?" lol. Tombstone and Goodfellas both need to be seen

alex

Finally got a chance to watch this with you. Thank you! You're so much fun. I really needed this today.

Reece Coventree

"That's the guy from Home Alone!" Every Scorcese fan groaned out loud simultaneously.

Brent Petty

If that's what gives you anxiety, DO NOT read anything by Kafka.

Brent Petty

Best trial movie ever.

KTVindicare

I kept hearing the Munsters theme play everytime the judge walked in.

Patrick Toscano

One of my top 10 movies of all time, maybe even top 5.

Justin Bernstein

wonderfully charming reaction to a surprisingly charming 'courtroom' movie - Great job!

Terry Yelmene

Finally got a chance to sit down and watch your reaction for this one..... And it did not disappoint. This one is certainly a classic and as many have said, won Marisa Tomei her Oscar for what was an absolutely amazing and iconic performance. Another suggestion for the future is her role in The Wrestler. Easily just as iconic and a complete role reversal from anything you've seen her in. It's a drama, not a comedy, but an absolutely amazing film, and I really hope you get around to it at some point. For an absolutely amazing performance out of Joe Pesci I would highly recommend Goodfellas, an absolute classic in the mob movie genre. Look forward to your future reactions. Take care.

Brian Jones

He's very funny in Casino too, that should be after Goodfellas

Dirk Rheeder

I think you now need to watch "The Home Alone Guy" in Goodfellas

Dirk Rheeder

This movie, along with Shawshank Redemption (your first watch!) are two movies that ARE impossible to ignore if they're on, even if I'm unfortunate enough to come across them late at night I'll be up till 2 because of them! Lol. One of those rare movies with really no bad guys in it (that are shown). Great reaction!!!! 👍👍

Brent Fugett

This is so good. One of my favorite movies. Cassie watching your facial expression evolve with Vinnie's experience right along with the boys was hilarious. Lol. One thing you note in this movie there aren't really any bad guys (other than the unseen perpetrators). As to the judge and the "power trip", judges are firmly in control of the courtroom. It's their domain, and kingdom and they know it, and this interpretation of Judge Haller is not far fetched at all. In fact judge characters are known to be one of the favorites of actors to play because of this trippy power. Lol

Brent Fugett

You may have inadvertently knocked out a 1992 Oscar winning movie here as Marisa Tomei won for Best Supporting Actress. You've seen Best Picture and Supporting Actor winner Unforgiven, 3 time winner Bram Stoker's Dracula along with A Few Good Men. Looking forward to you checking out Best Cinematography winner A RIVER RUNS THROUGH IT, feature Brad Pitt circa Legend of the Fall time.

Jason Dolan

Great reaction video as always and so happy you liked it as it’s one of my favourites movies. I probably watch it a couple of times a year 😂. I actually think it pretty much a perfect film with a brilliant cast

Dean Holt

Cassie mocking Trotter’s “I-CLAP-DENTICAL” moment is everything. LMAO

Daniel Pulliam

I see what you did there ;)

Robin T

Wonderful reaction Cassie! I’m very happy you enjoyed the movie! I know this one has been hyped a lot. With everyone, including myself, insisting you would enjoy it. Sometimes, when something is hyped so much, it often doesn’t live up to expectations. But you seemed to really enjoy that one. Which made watching along with you very enjoyable. The movie really shows how great an actor Joe Pesci really is. And I think you will appreciate how good he is even more when you finally get around to seeing movies like Goodfellas or Casino. Also lets not forget how great Marissa Tomei, A.K.A. Aunt May, was in this one. So great, in fact, she one the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in this film. It really was fun watching along with you. Great job!

Robert da Spruce

I was wondering that too -- did she remember him from that commercial or was that a coincidence?

Tyler Foster

If she also moves onto As Good As It Gets and Something's Gotta Give, will this make Joe Pesci the yin to Jack Nicholson's yang?

Tyler Foster

If you were trying to patch the plot hole, you can say she leaves the restaurant with the info that the judge caught onto the Gallo scheme. She calls his judge friend from outside the courtroom and even if she doesn't know what his alibi was, the judge figures it out and tells her he'll take care of it. It's a little bit of a stretch, but as you say, it's also a forgivable plot hole to begin with.

Tyler Foster

I can't tell you how excited I was when I logged into Patreon and saw that you were reacting this movie. While I love "A Few Good Men", I was disappointed when this didn't win the court room poll. This is quite possible one of my all time favorite movies next to "A Princess Bride", and I knew it would be right up your alley. It is so well written and acted. I saw someone recommended a review by legal eagle of this movie. It is an interesting look into the accuracy of the courtroom behavior as well. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a1I7QBCHqng

Brian Wegner

This was a fun reaction with you - enjoy the movie so much, it came a must have for my online library.

JarHead0351

Did anyone else catch what Cassie said near the end?🤷 It was when Vinny had his big fight with his fiance. Cassie said "eat something, you're not yourself when you are hungry". Which is either an Easter egg, or an amazing coincidence, because it is almost quite literally Joe Pesci's Snickers commercial! In that commercial, Pesci is at a college party arguing with girls and his friend pulls him in to the back, hands him a Snickers and says "here have this, you are angry when you're hungry" 🤯🤯🤯

Todzilla

Not only did he marry her, but she won an Oscar! Yes, Marisa Tomei won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for My Cousin Vinny, so when you say you loved her, well of course you did! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a1I7QBCHqng By the way, that's a link to a real lawyer reacting to My Cousin Vinny, his favorite lawyer movie, so you're in good company.

Alan Kobb

Me too! 😅😅😅

Todzilla

Well there is a lot to unpack with this reaction. First off this was on my "Cassie Bucket List" of films to react to. I'm so glad she enjoyed it! Her reaction had me smiling ear to ear. Watching her react to this was like seeing this film again for the first time though her eyes. At the end when she said she had chills, she gave me chills! I agree with Cassie, this IS a feel good film with a happy ending. But add her reaction to it, and you get a turbo charged happy, feel good film. One of the things I like most about Cassie's reactions to these types of films is how DIFFERENT her experience is. For instance she starts out by comparing Joe Pesci and Marisa Tomei to their characters in Home Alone and Spider Man!😅😅😅 I mean those are the last films they'd be recognized from (for me), but that's part of what makes Cassie insanely adorable. When I think "Pesci", I think "Goodfellas". As for "Goodfellas", I'm glad Cassie got to enjoy, and do I dare say "love" Joe Pesci in this film?🤷 Can't wait for her to react to him in Goodfellas, Casino or even The Irishman. I'm real picky about the films I watch, even the ones Cassie reacts to. So whenever she reacts to a film I love (especially if she likes it too) it means just that much more to me. Thanks again for this "bucket list" reaction Cassie!

Todzilla

This is a film that demands multiple re-watces. My local theater does a weekly retro film, and this is one that I watch EVERY time. Tonight I realized that the Are you sure?/I'm positive! exchange was a call back to the dripping sink conversation. BTW Vinnie never tells Lisa about 'Callo', and I'm fairly certain the judge didn't either, so how did she find out? It's a very forgivable error though.

David Patterson

this movie is horrible , I do like the ending , the rest is crap and boring

zynjams

This was my first time watching too. The Dutch angles were killing me. I've only seen Pesci in his dramatic roles, and while I know it's half his career, I don't think he's a good comic actor. I don't think he's a funny guy, he doesn't amuse me.

Carol_White

Here's Marisa Tomei receiving her best actress Oscar for My Cousin Vinny https://youtu.be/ej8EpWYFhnw

David Crabtree

This one was a lot of fun.great film. Great reaction. Pesci was perfect and Marisa Tomei is stunning in this and still is.

Canadianant

I guess Goodfellas is next. Pesci is funny in that too, or so Ray Liotta's character says.

Pickupthepieces76

It hurt my soul to hear her call Joe Pesci "the Home Alone guy" and Marisa Tomei "Aunt May" lol.

Jordan

Cass... it always cracks me up when recognize actors but the reference is always very modern day. It reminds of your Yute and how you are still just diving into the hidden treasures of the past. :) I have to admit Marisa is one of those actresses that I have always had a huge crush on. Love her! She was also fantastic in Untamed Heart, which is a great movie but a Kleenex box movie.

Doug Fisher

I can't wait till she meets Leo Getz.

Erik Daniel

Another movie that I haven’t seen in years and forgot just how funny it was. Yes, Cassie that was the Karate Kid playing Vinny’s nephew. I love Joe Pesci (peshee) from The Lethal Weapon movies, he was the perfect amount of comic relief. And if I remember correctly, Marisa Tomei’s Oscar win was controversial because she won for a comedy, but she was absolutely incredible! The biological clock scene was iconic and women would imitate her and stomp their feet. I hope sometime soon you will watch A Time To Kill, The Rainmaker and Philadelphia. All great courtroom movies.🍿

Tara

Charming film. My favorite moment is probably when Vinny tests the witness's eyesight with the tape measurer. Like a lot of people of my generation or older, my first exposure to courtroom dramas (or to the justice system in general) was through Perry Mason... not the original TV series from the '50s (as I wasn't born yet, though my dad watched them) but through a series of TV movies in the '80s-90s that brought back Raymond Burr (whom you know as the neighbor who murdered his wife in REAR WINDOW) as the legendary defense attorney. He was notorious for his dramatic in-court demonstrations. They often annoyed the judge and his opposing counsel, but they got the point across. Good stuff.

Stick Figure Studios

This is a household favourite around here. I remember growing up we had a VHS recording from sometime when HBO was showing both this and Back to the Future. Now while I got to see Back to the Future in it's entirety, the recording didn't include the ending of My Cousin Vinny. So for years I never found out how it ended, until we finally went out and rented it from the local video store. I'm so glad we did because it is probably one of the best endings in the history of movies. We have it on DVD now and we quote it whenever the opportunity presents itself. Maybe it's because I've seen it multiple times and can't remember how I felt when I first watched this. But I never viewed the Prosecution, his witnesses or the judge as the villains of the movie. They just strike me as people who are trying to do what they believe to be the right thing. In Trotter's case he used to be a defence attorney, and made a very good living winning his cases. Despite the fact that his clients were guilty as hell. Which probably accounts for why he doesn't take defeat well. From his point of view, he's probably used similar tactics to Vinny's to help guilty men go free. He probably has difficulty viewing defendants as potentially innocent due to his own experience. The Judge, is a stickler for the rules he never struck me as particularly corrupt. He just wants procedure followed. The witnesses as it's more or less shown once Vinny points out the potential for doubt. Aren't lying, they're telling the truth as they understand it to be.

Phillip Ribbink

I have a friend who is a car guy and he always complain when movies gets their car facts wrong. I also have a friend who is a lawyer and he generally hates court/law movies for the same reason. This is the only movie where my two friends can sit together and watch a movie without them endlessly pointing out all the factual errors of their respective expertise (even though there were a couple of scenes where they could take issue, but didn't). Quite an accomplishment in my book.

Mr Jordan

im always curious how old joe pesci is supposed to be in this. in real life he was 50 but they write the character like hes in his late 20s.

rubberkidney

My late wife and I would watch this movies at least once a year and I continue to watch it on a regular basis as it reminds me of her and the way we would laugh about it. Marisa Tomei reminds me a lot of the way my wife was, smart and intelligent in so many ways in life, and just very motivated and quick to learn new things in great depth to really expand her knowledge and persona in life. Very happy you watched this and liked it so much. PS love the nails they looked awesome in this reaction.

Richard Shepard

This was much needed. I had forgotten how funny this movie was oh my gosh I laughed so hard. I Enjoy seeing you laugh and smile. And you asked can you imagine When the steam whistle went off? Yes I can. Buffalo trace here in Kentucky still has a steam whistle and it goes off several times a day. And yes they are extremely loud.

Steven Ashford

What’s a “Yute”? 😂

Robert da Spruce

LegalEagle has a great video about the accuracy of this movie, I highly recommend checking it out! When Marisa Tomei won her Oscar for this movie, there was some controversy where some people thought that Jack Palance read the wrong name and that she didn't actually win. Of course, that turned out to be bullshit.

XanderWhat

she won an academy award for best supporting actress for this role... sooooo good.. and being a new yorker the accents are so good.. hahaha

Brian Landers

Great way to re-introduce Cassie to Joe Pesci before Goodfellas and hopefully Casino. Probably better to start off this way before seeing his "darker" characters.

Shehab Dawoud

I remember back then not expecting much from this film and being blown away by how funny it was. A true classic.

Yann Laliberté

Was looking forward to watching it - and enjoyed your reaction Cassie

ENC SW DV Rush

Whenever I see Marisa Tomei I can't help recalling her cameo in Seinfeld and her clobbering George Costanza . She was also excellent in 'The Paper'. Thoroughly deserved her Oscar for her role in this.

Darren Hill

I loved this movie when I first saw it soon after it came out, but for some reason I don't think I watched it since then. This was such a good movie and fun reaction. I think this was the first movie that I became aware of Marisa Tomei, and she was just perfect in this role.

Johnny

Pancreatic Cancer btw.

Shawn Kildal

Also, you may have recognized the larger gentleman / witness who was questioned about how long it took him to cook his grits. He was in Dances With Wolves as the guy who gave John Dunbar his orders to Fort Sedgwick. The weird guy who said he pissed on himself and then put a pistol to his head while looking out the window as Dunbar rode away.

Shawn Kildal

Marisa Tomei's stomping her feet complaining that her biological clock is ticking is such a great and iconic scene. It's amazing this movie is 30 years old (1992). And she still as beautiful today which is crazy! Joe Pesci is perhaps even funnier in the Lethal Weapon movies btw.

Shawn Kildal

I've watched this a dozen times in my life and the scene where he first enters the cell still kills me. I love this film.

ExploreWinnipeg

I remember a scene in the Firefly TV show when Jayne said something that had her rolling too. Something about never kissing a girl on the mouth (after Malcomb was almost killed by kissing Saffron)

Shawn Kildal

Just some quick little bits of info: You might know the prosecutor (Lane Smith) best from the TV show Lois and Clark. He played Perry White. Marisa Tomei won an Academy award for best supporting actress for this role. Joe Pesci is 5'4" and Fred Gwynne (who played the Judge) is 6'5". Fred Gwynne is best known for playing the lovable Herman Munster on the 60's TV show The Munsters. Unfortunately, he passed away just a year after this movie was released. This was his last role.

Shawn Kildal

Hehehe... Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't this the first movie to make Cassie roll off sideways laughing? (Movie index 1:24:30)

Sabrecho

Marisa Tomei won the Oscar for that role! Pretty fantastic character, movie & reaction!

Philip Alan

Hope today’s youts enjoy this as much as I did when it first came out

Andrew

Cassie doesn't like misunderstandings, but her reactions to this movie's are priceless.

Alex Villarreal

Aunt May's Oscar-winning role. :)

Alex Villarreal

I know this is a fan favorite but I was really shocked this beat A Time to kill. I really hope you get to this one. So great.

Michael Lynch

Excellent! Just got the notification! Glad you enjoyed it Cassie! A little late to watch this one tonight. But it’s on tomorrow’s docket! 😉 Hope you had an enjoyable weekend! Edit: Just went to download the reaction. I’m only seeing resolutions up to 540p. No 1080p. Is this the highest resolution offered for this one?

Robert da Spruce

Released less than 15 mins ago. Yesss!! Playing in 3... 2... :)

Sabrecho

Easily one of our top 20 all time movies. Anxious to see this reaction!
