Courtroom Poll B
Added 2022-03-08 07:22:00 +0000 UTCI feel SO excited for this genre. I have always loved law tv shows, but haven't seen very many courtroom movies. I have seen Legally Blonde, 12 Angry Men (on the channel), Conviction and To Kill a Mockingbird.
Ok since there were so many I wanted to include, we are going to do it like the Investigation poll last time and have POLL A and POLL B going at the same time for 2 days and then the top 4 will go to the FINAL poll and I will watch the winner and runner up! So fun right?!
Make sure to go vote on POLL A HERE AS WELL
As I have not seen any of these, I don't know how much "courtroom" each has but from your suggestions, help of friends and google I think this is a good list.
POLL A and B will close Thursday 3/10 at noon MST!
Plead your cases, dismissed, ORDER!

I'm very curious to see her reaction to A TIME TO KILL. That was a seminal film in my development both as a cinephile and as a human being. I like the film very much and yet I am very troubled by its implications. It was the first time I realized that I could like and admire a film on the one hand while still simultaneously thinking it is ultimately immoral in its thesis on the other. The The discussions about that film should be very interesting.

2022-03-17 21:05:09 +0000 UTCI wouldn't go that far. 95% was good, but the ending is supposed to be shocking and some kind of "wow, how did he think of that" surprise, but it is one of the most obvious, cliched things ever. But it is hard to discuss without spoilers. I find it hard to watch the movie anymore simply because I know that tired ending is coming up. But, whatever, different people enjoy different things. I'm sure there are plenty of movies I like that others don't.

2022-03-11 03:09:26 +0000 UTCNeat. An exact tie for fourth. Looks like 9 are going to the next round. edit-...to get crushed by My Cousin Vinnie and A Few Good Men. edit 2- Hey... the number for The Rainmaker went up after it was supposed to be closed... Shenanigans! (or slow updating software, but 'shenanigans' is more fun to say).

2022-03-10 00:03:54 +0000 UTCI think you can only vote for one in the Finals. Lot of votes fixing to be consolidated! I’m not sure it’s a lock for the Final 2 just yet. Could be enough vote left out there to push a movie like A Time To Kill over the top. You never know! That’s why you play the game!😀

2022-03-09 22:05:59 +0000 UTCTom cruise’s “A Few Good Men” seems like the runaway winner, with Matt Damon’s “The Rainmaker” trailing far behind, and I’ve seen both. As much as I like Tom Cruise, and I’m a HUGE fan, I really think THE RAINMAKER is a better introductory film to this genre of legal thriller because the type of small town, very green and naive lawyer that is portrayed by Matt Damon, along side his co-star, the ever entertaining Danny DeVito. I highly recommend THE RAINMAKER.

2022-03-09 04:49:03 +0000 UTCIt occurred to me, Cassie is on quite a roll with the flogging scenes. I count four movies over the past month or so where someone gets whipped. Must be a fetish. (Kidding)

2022-03-09 01:17:02 +0000 UTCCan we just skip the final poll and go straight to Cassie's reaction to "My Cousin Vinny" and then "A Few Good Men"?
