Upcoming and Thank you!!

Hey guys!! Thank you so much to all those who came to POP Quiz Trivia night, it really was so fun. There were a few little kinks but I know what to change and fix for next time! I love movies, I love trivia and I  love hanging out with my friends :)

Congrats to the winners-

TylerGFoster (1st place)

Cliff Endicott (New Patron! 2nd place)

Croweyes (Daniel Pulliam on here for 3rd)

Tyler has sent me a list of 5 movies for me to choose from, I can't decide. It will be coming up soon though, dun dun duuuunnnn!

Ok this week we have the last 2 Wandavision episodes (woah!), The St. Patrick's poll winner-The Quiet Place (watching tonight) it actually only beat "The Commitments" by 20 votes! Finally my Popcorn Pick of the Month was Almost Famous, and Carly and I watched it and smiled the whole time.

Also the courtroom poll will be going up by the end of the day. Again, its going to be Poll A and Poll B and then the top 4 from each will go to a FINAL poll! Should be so fun!

Ok thanks again guys, I truly feel like you guys are my friends <3

Sometimes I hang out lots on instagram, you should follow there if you want!

Also sometimes when I'm done watching a movie at night and need to talk about it, I go chat in the "post game rundown" channel on discord!

I'm ecstatic! One of my favorite movies won a poll! The Quiet Man is a romcom before romcoms were romcoms. There have been popular screen pairings in movie history; Tracy & Hepburn , Hanks & Ryan and William Powell and Myrna Loy. However one of the most popular couples was John Wayne and Maureen O'Hara. One of the best parts of the Quiet Man is all of the great Irish characters in the village of Inishfree. Enjoy. Now if we could only get the Treasure of the Sierra Madre on the schedule I'll die a happy man. (I'm not dying unless I get hit by a potato truck crossing the street. )

Almost Famous I thought was pretty solid. Oh and I got a good excuse for my trivia. No glasses (still now even.) And only got to like 20% of the questions 😝. Plus I was trying to put YouTube on a 3rd screen. But the system works, once everyone knows how.

Don't forget Bergman/Von Sydow or even Ozu/Ryu. Too many great pairings!

Can’t wait for that Wandavision finale! 😁

Rainbow Dash

Eagly was based on a real life character?! WOW!!!

@Happy Hanukkah, Wiseau was an artist on a different level. I put him and Ed Wood on that pedestal.

Speaking of strange celebrities, there is a newly-wed couple, turned social media personalities, are taking the internet by storm. Although they are are a modern couple who recently decided to start a family, they still make time for each other and have a lot to teach us about old fashioned values. You can catch up on their latest escapades here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B4-L2nfGcuE

So weird seeing Wayne and Kurosawa in the same sentence - even though they are both emblematic of the long love affair between Hollywood and Japanese cinema.

Looking forward to Almost Famous, great choice!

I find it odd you neglected to mention the uncontested top pairing: Tommy Wiseau / Tommy Wiseau.

Happy Hanukkah

John Ford/John Wayne was one of the best director/actor pairings in film history. Along with Martin Scorsese/Robert DeNiro, Akira Kurosawa/Toshiro Mifune, Tim Burton/Johnny Depp.

G

Almost Famous is one of those films with an excellent story and a great soundtrack.

Oh no! I'm going to have to wait an extra week for Star Wars: The LastJedi??!?!?!

Mr. Killeverything

She's already seen it. All time classic though

Courtroom movies. The most famous and best trial movie ever made (IMHO) is not on your list: "To Kill a Mockingbird"

Tet68Vietnam

Will this be your first John Wayne movie??? Another good one is McLintock, with the same two lead stars.
