Don’t feel ashamed. I have never seen this movie either and I’m much older. Took the popcorn sisters to watch it for me to check it out. Hit me like a ton of bricks. My work was adventurous and took me all over the eastern half of the US. That was taken away in a blink of an eye. I’ve been struggling to find new purpose, didn’t realize how much of my identity was in my work. This movie is just what I needed for some perspective!! Merry Christmas Cassie, Carly and the whole popcorn family!!

Steven Ashford

The most Cassie/Carly thing I've ever witnessed on this channel was them loudly cheering "Yes!" at the scene were George and Mary get married.

Always have to watch this after I watch the original movie, because that "original ending" is more satisfying: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vw89o0afb2A

As per my Christmas Eve tradition, I am watching It's A Wonderful Life and Die Hard. When Cassie said "Yippee Ki Yay" at the end of this reaction, it made my day. She's the best. Tears and smiles all around. Happy Holidays everyone!

Big J Stewart fan and this certainly is part of the reason. Let’s not forget he became Brigadier General in the Reserves in which he stayed active until 1968. He got an honorary promotion in the late 80’s to Major General.

Robert Holmes

Jimmy Stewart (the star of this movie), was already one of Hollywood’s biggest stars by the late 1930’s. When WWII came around he gave up everything to go serve his country, he became a war hero, flying many missions with his bomber crew over Europe. This was his very first movie he made as soon as he came back from the war, and he credits this movie through helping him heal through all of the trauma he endured during that time. Truly a different breed of man.

This is an American classic... now. I love this movie, but America hasn't always. Frank Capra directed this movie after he returned from his service to the country as an officer who filmed WW2. He and 4 other big name directors ( John Ford, John Huston, George Stevens, Billy Wilder ) we're in battle and managed other camera operators. See Five Came Back. When Capra got back he started his own studio but had a hard time competing financially against the big studios. It's A Wonderful Life (IAWL) was Liberty Films last movie and flopped upon its release. Capra had to go back to working for other studios. He had numerous military medals and 3 Oscars as best director. IAWL settled into obscurity never to be seen on the big screen again. BUT... the angels heard some prayers. TV came along and in the early years of TV there wasn't enough TV being produced to fill all the air time. Silently, IAWL's copyright expired and it fell into the public domain. That meant it could be aired for FREE. So it started showing up on TV at Christmas time and America fell in love with the Baileys. The rest is history. Look for movies with James Stewart, Donna Reed, Lionel Barrymore ( great uncle of Drew Barrymore) and Clarence the Angel in other classic movies. Also look for other classic movies such as the Treasure of the Sierra Madre, Captains Courageous, Maltese Falcon, Shane, Chinatown to name a few.

We stopped watching this every year when I was younger because the kids found it pretty boring, so its been several years since ive seen it. Man Its never made me cry like it did this time

I start tearing up when George finds Zuzu's petals in his pocket on the bridge.
