Prisoners (2013) - Full Reaction

Hey guys here is my reaction to Prisoners. This was a top tier patron pick and sheeessshhh this one was tough. You basically get to watch me have a panic attack (mostly kidding) but I was very invested and it was hard because I am a mom and this situation is too hard to think about.  As much as I wanted to stop, I had to know how it ended, and luckily I have a good imagination so the ending didn't completely wreck me haha. Enjoy

Prisoners (2013) - Full Reaction

I love this movie. It makes me emotional. The first time I watched this movie. I didn't know that Alex was the kid and the guy that drew the mazes I didn't know the significance. I don't like how it ends on a cliffhanger though.

You may have broken your 'most omigosh's in one reaction' record. Love this movie and this director, Denis Villenueve. This and his other masterpieces Sicario, Arrival, Blade Runner 2049 and the recent Dune adaptation are some of my all time favorites. Certainly not for the faint of heart, but I am glad you did this movie and more importantly that you seemed to like it despite its tension and stress. Thanks for the great content

No she isn’t! She’s from canada but lives i the United States now.

You're a mom? That would explain why you have a strong emotional side when it comes to violent scenes.

This was an amazing reaction. So glad you got through it. I like your ending. Watch 'We Bought A Zoo' and pretend it's a sequel to this:)

Mark M

I swear this is a different ending from what I remember.

Jarron Khan

11 minutes in! I'm scared. I've seen the movie once but ugh, it's not an easy watch. Love the film though. EDIT: That ending xD

Hulu is not available in Norway (nor Europe, as far as I know). I would not expect the Netflix version in America to have a speed issue either. So as the previous commenter said, it is likely the encoding for different region standards.

Sindre Kristiansen

didn't have speed difference on Hulu stream..

Mike McLaughlin

Good little movie.. Maybe, Elizabethtown now would be a great little fun story..

Mike McLaughlin

Thanks for the reply and thorough explanation. I figured it might be the case. So far into the movie It is about 5 minute difference, which confirms the 4%. This has been the first time I've experienced it, the other movies have been okay, both from Netflix, Itunes and Prime. So I guess the encoding, as you mention, on this particular one has been sped up. I appreciate the reply :) I only have about 40min (well...) left and I have just been pausing here and there, so it's okay. I'll try downloading the video if this happens again another time.

Sindre Kristiansen

Yeah, it is possible. Cassie is in Canada, a land where movies run at their native speed. On TV in Europe and Australia, movies (and any content recorded on film) are sped up by 4% to match the frame rate of broadcast TV. If you watch a Blu-ray copy of the movie, it should play at the right speed. It is not a limitation of the computer or the TV... these can play all kinds of weird frame rates. However, once a movie has been re-encoded to e.g. 1080p25, it is a little tricky to slow it down in real time to 1080p24 (i.e. by 4.00%)... Your best hope is actually to speed Cassie's p60 file up to p62.5 (i.e. by 4.17%) to match. Due to the small fractions involved, this is not a real time operation, even for a GPU, but will only take a few minutes for a multi-core CPU. Dropping frames could work, and some players can do that in real time, but the video will stutter.

Just started this now. I'm watching my version on Netflix, but somehow it goes a bit faster (or Cassie's version goes slower?) so it goes out of sync really fast. How weird! Might it be because of NTSC/PAL? Or just different streaming systems from Netflix and others? I've not encountered this problem before.

Sindre Kristiansen

In my opinion this was probably one of the best acting I seen from Hugh and Jake. Really had me immersed, u felt for them.
