A Little White Lie

"Another boring day at the office," Becca muttered to herself as she strode through the gleaming glass doors of Horizon Industries. The year was 2050, and the world had long since adapted to the Amazon virus that had transformed women across the globe over a decade ago.

At 7'2", Becca was the epitome of average in this new world. Her heels clicked rhythmically on the polished floor as she made her way to the lift, nodding politely to colleagues along the way. The familiar scent of coffee and electronics filled the air, a comforting constant in a world that had seen so much change.

"Hold the lift!" a voice called out. Becca's hand shot out, effortlessly keeping the doors open as Katie from HR rushed in, her 7'5" frame slightly hunched to avoid bumping her head.

"Thanks, Becca," Katie panted, smoothing down her skirt. "You're a lifesaver."

Becca grinned, her emerald eyes twinkling. "No worries. Rough morning?"

Katie rolled her eyes dramatically. "You have no idea. The twins decided today was the perfect day to have a growth spurt. Both of them. At once."

"Ouch," Becca winced sympathetically. "How tall are they now?"

"6'8" and still growing," Katie sighed. "At this rate, they'll be taller than me by next week. I swear, these second-generation Amazons are something else."

The lift dinged, opening onto their floor. As they stepped out, Becca couldn't help but marvel at how smoothly the world had adapted. The ceilings soared high above them, doorways were wide and tall, and every piece of furniture was built to Amazon proportions. It was a far cry from the chaos of the early days after the virus hit.

"Speaking of growth," Katie said as they walked towards their desks, "any news on the promotion front? I heard there might be an opening in the creative department."

Becca shrugged, her muscular shoulders rippling beneath her tailored blazer. "Nothing concrete yet. But fingers crossed, right?"

As they reached their workstations, Becca's phone buzzed. A message from her best friend, Zoe, lit up the screen:

"Emergency girls' night tonight. My place. 7 PM. No excuses!"

Becca chuckled, quickly tapping out a reply: "Wouldn't miss it for the world. I'll bring the wine."

She settled into her ergonomically designed chair, booted up her computer, and dove into her work. The day passed in a blur of meetings, project updates, and client calls. Before she knew it, the sun was setting, painting the sky in hues of orange and pink visible through the floor-to-ceiling windows.

As Becca packed up her things, a nagging feeling of discontent settled in her stomach. She loved her job, her friends, her life... so why did she feel like something was missing?

Shaking off the feeling, she headed out, ready for whatever drama Zoe had in store for their girls' night. Little did she know, her world was about to be turned upside down in ways she never could have imagined.

Becca arrived at Zoe's apartment, a bottle of wine in each hand. She rang the doorbell with her elbow, careful not to drop the precious cargo.

"It's open!" Zoe's voice called from inside.

Becca shouldered the door open, ducking slightly out of habit despite the Amazon-sized frame. "Zo? Where are you?"

"Kitchen!"

Following the sound, Becca found her best friend furiously chopping vegetables, her 7'4" frame hunched over the counter. Zoe's fiery red hair was tied up in a messy bun, and she was still wearing her work clothes - a sure sign something was on her mind.

"Whoa, what did those carrots ever do to you?" Becca joked, setting the wine bottles on the kitchen island.

Zoe looked up, her freckled face breaking into a grin. "They existed. Now they're dinner." She put down the knife and wiped her hands on a tea towel. "Thanks for coming. I really need to talk to you about something."

Becca raised an eyebrow, reaching for the corkscrew. "Sounds serious. Should I be worried?"

"No, no," Zoe waved her hand dismissively. "It's actually good news. Well, potentially good news. For you."

Now Becca was intrigued. She poured two generous glasses of wine and handed one to Zoe. "Alright, spill. What's this potentially good news?"

Zoe took a long sip of wine before answering. "So, you know how I've been working on that new nanotech project at the lab?"

Becca nodded. Zoe was a biomedical engineer, always on the cutting edge of the latest advancements.

"Well," Zoe continued, excitement creeping into her voice, "we've had a breakthrough. We've developed a treatment that can temporarily alter an Amazon's size."

Becca nearly choked on her wine. "What? Are you serious?"

Zoe nodded enthusiastically. "Completely serious. It's still in the testing phase, but the results have been promising. We can reduce an Amazon's height by up to a foot for about 24 hours."

Becca's mind was reeling. "That's... incredible. But why are you telling me this? And why did it warrant an emergency girls' night?"

Zoe bit her lip, a mischievous glint in her eye. "Well, that's the other thing I wanted to talk to you about. I may have set you up on a blind date."

"Zoe!" Becca exclaimed, half-exasperated, half-amused. "We've talked about this. I'm perfectly happy being single."

"I know, I know," Zoe held up her hands in surrender. "But hear me out. This guy, Alex, he's perfect for you. He's smart, funny, successful... and he has a thing for 'smaller' Amazons."

Becca frowned. "Smaller? I'm 7'2". That's not exactly small."

"Exactly," Zoe said, pointing at Becca with her wine glass. "Which is where the treatment comes in. What if you could be 6'3" for just one date?"

Becca opened her mouth to protest, then closed it again. She had to admit, the idea was intriguing. "I don't know, Zo. It seems a bit... deceptive. And isn't it dangerous?"

Zoe shook her head. "It's completely safe. We've done extensive testing. And it's not deceptive - you'd still be you, just... more compact. Think of it as a really effective push-up bra, but for your whole body."

Becca couldn't help but laugh at the analogy. "You're ridiculous, you know that?"

"But you love me," Zoe grinned. "Come on, what do you say? One date, no strings attached. If you hate it, you never have to see him again. And you get to be part of cutting-edge scientific research!"

Becca sighed, swirling the wine in her glass. "I can't believe I'm even considering this. When's the date?"

"This Saturday," Zoe said, trying to contain her excitement. "So, is that a yes?"

Becca took a deep breath. "It's a maybe. I'll think about it, okay?"

Zoe squealed and pulled Becca into a bone-crushing hug. "You won't regret this, I promise!"

As they settled in for dinner, Becca's mind was racing. Could she really go through with this? And if she did, what would it be like to suddenly be 'small' in a world built for Amazons? Only time would tell.

Becca woke up Wednesday morning with a mix of excitement and anxiety churning in her stomach. After a night of tossing and turning, she'd decided to go through with Zoe's crazy plan. She grabbed her phone and fired off a quick text:

"I'm in. What do I need to do?"

Zoe's reply came almost instantly: "YES! Come by the lab at lunch. We'll run some tests and explain everything."

The morning dragged by, each minute feeling like an hour. Finally, lunchtime arrived, and Becca practically sprinted to Zoe's lab.

"There's my favourite guinea pig!" Zoe beamed as Becca entered.

"Ha ha," Becca rolled her eyes. "So, what's this procedure actually involve?"

Zoe launched into an explanation, her eyes sparkling with enthusiasm. "It's a two-part process. First, we inject you with a specially designed nanobot solution. Then, we use a magnetic field to activate the nanobots, which temporarily reorganize your cellular structure."

Becca blinked. "In English, please?"

Zoe chuckled. "We shrink you, temporarily. But here's the catch - the mass has to go somewhere. Or rather, to someone."

"What do you mean?"

"You'll need to find someone willing to take on your extra height for the day. A friend, family member, whoever. They'll grow by the same amount you shrink."

Becca's jaw dropped. "Are you kidding me? Who's going to agree to that?"

Zoe shrugged. "That's the challenge. But hey, you've got until Saturday morning to find someone!"

As Becca left the lab, her mind was racing. Who could she ask? Katie from HR? No, she had that big client meeting on Saturday. Her boss? Definitely not. Her sister? Out of town for a wedding.

Thursday and Friday passed in a blur of rejections. It seemed everyone had plans for Saturday that didn't involve suddenly growing a foot taller.

By Friday night, Becca was ready to call the whole thing off. She flopped onto her couch, dialing her mom's number for their weekly chat.

"Hey, sweetie!" Linda's cheerful voice came through the speaker. "How are you doing?"

"I'm okay, Mom. Just... dealing with some stuff."

Linda's tone immediately shifted to concern. "What's wrong, honey?"

Before she knew it, Becca was spilling the whole story - the date, the procedure, her struggle to find someone to take on her extra height.

There was a long pause on the other end of the line. Then, Linda spoke, her voice filled with determination. "I'll do it."

Becca sat up straight. "What? Mom, no, I can't ask you to-"

"You're not asking, I'm offering," Linda interrupted. "Besides, I've always wondered what it would be like to be one of the tall ones."

Becca couldn't help but laugh. At 6'11", her mom was considered short in their family. "Are you sure about this?"

"Absolutely," Linda replied. "What are mothers for if not to literally grow for their daughters?"

Tears of relief and gratitude welled up in Becca's eyes. "Mom, you're the best. I don't know how to thank you."

"You can thank me by having a wonderful time on your date," Linda said warmly. "Now, what time do we need to be at the lab tomorrow?"

As Becca hung up the phone, she felt a wave of excitement wash over her. This was really happening. In less than 24 hours, she'd be 6'3" and heading out on a date with a mysterious man who preferred 'smaller' Amazons.

What could possibly go wrong?

Saturday morning arrived with a mix of anticipation and nervousness. Becca and Linda met outside Zoe's lab, both trying to hide their anxiety behind forced smiles.

"Ready for this, Mom?" Becca asked, giving her mother's hand a squeeze.

Linda nodded, her 6'11" frame only slightly shorter than Becca's 7'2". "As ready as I'll ever be, sweetie. Let's do this."

They entered the lab to find Zoe already bustling about, her 7'4" height allowing her to easily reach equipment on high shelves. "There's my favourite mother-daughter duo!" she called out cheerfully. "Who's ready for a little switcheroo?"

Becca and Linda exchanged glances, then burst into nervous laughter. "I guess that's us," Becca replied.

Zoe guided them through the process, explaining each step in detail. "Alright, ladies. First, we'll need you both to change into these special bodysuits. They're designed to adjust to your changing sizes."

Once changed, Becca and Linda stood side by side. The difference in their heights was noticeable but not dramatic. Becca's muscular arms were slightly larger than her mother's, her shoulders a bit broader.

"Okay, Becca," Zoe said, approaching with a syringe. "You're up first. This might feel a bit cold."

Becca winced slightly as the nanobot solution was injected into her arm. "Now what?" she asked.

"Now, you both step into these chambers," Zoe explained, gesturing to two large, transparent tubes. "We'll activate the magnetic field, and the transformation will begin. It should take about 15 minutes."

As the chambers sealed around them, Becca caught her mother's eye. Linda gave her an encouraging smile and a thumbs up.

Zoe's voice came through a speaker. "Alright, here we go. In 3... 2... 1..."

A low hum filled the air, and Becca felt a strange tingling sensation spreading through her body. She watched in fascination as her hands seemed to shrink before her eyes. Across from her, Linda's eyes widened as she began to grow.

The next 15 minutes were a blur of shifting perspectives and changing proportions. Becca felt her muscles becoming less defined, her height decreasing inch by inch. Meanwhile, Linda's frame expanded, her muscles swelling and her height increasing dramatically.

Finally, the humming stopped, and the chambers opened with a soft hiss.

Becca stepped out first, feeling oddly light and compact. She turned to see her mother emerging from the other chamber and gasped.

Linda now stood at an impressive 7'10", her frame muscular and imposing. Her bodysuit strained against her new, larger muscles, particularly around her arms and thighs. She looked down at her hands in wonder, flexing her fingers as if testing their new strength.

"Mom?" Becca said, her voice sounding strangely small to her own ears. "How do you feel?"

Linda turned to answer and had to adjust her gaze downward, unused to looking down at her daughter. "I feel... incredible," she said, her voice filled with awe. "Is this how you usually feel, sweetheart?"

Becca shook her head, craning her neck to meet her mother's eyes. "Not quite, Mom. I think you might be even bigger than I was."

Zoe approached, now towering over Becca. "The transformation was a complete success!" she announced excitedly. "Becca, you're now 6'3", and Linda, you're 7'10". How do you both feel?"

Becca flexed her arm, noting how her once-bulging bicep now appeared more toned than massive. "It's... strange," she admitted. "I feel so light, almost delicate."

Linda, on the other hand, was marveling at her new physique. She took a step forward, the floor seeming to shake slightly under her new weight. "This is amazing," she breathed. "I've never felt so... powerful."

Zoe grinned, putting an arm around Becca's shoulders - something she'd never been able to do before. "Well, ladies, I'd say this was a roaring success. Becca, you're all set for your date tonight. And Linda, you get to experience life as a tall Amazon for the next 24 hours."

As they prepared to leave the lab, the size differences became even more apparent. Becca had to look up to both Zoe and her mother, an entirely new experience for her. Linda ducked slightly to pass through the doorway, her new height making her cautious of her surroundings.

"Oh, one more thing," Zoe called out as they were leaving. "Becca, I've arranged for some clothes in your new size to be delivered to your apartment. And Linda, I've got some larger sizes here for you to borrow."

As they said their goodbyes, Becca couldn't help but feel a mix of excitement and trepidation. She was about to experience the world from a whole new perspective, both literally and figuratively. And as she watched her mother carefully maneuver her new, larger body, she wondered how this experience might change them both.

"Well, Mom," Becca said, looking up at Linda with a grin, "ready to take on the world as a super-sized Amazon?"

Linda laughed, the sound deeper and more resonant than before. "Lead the way, my not-so-little one. This is going to be quite the adventure."

As Becca and Linda stepped out of the lab, the world seemed to have shifted around them. Becca felt a cool breeze on her face that she hadn't noticed before, now that she was closer to the ground. Linda, on the other hand, found herself instinctively ducking under doorways and awnings that she would have easily cleared before.

"Oh my," Linda exclaimed, nearly bumping her head on a street sign. "Is this what it's like for you taller girls all the time?"

Becca couldn't help but chuckle. "Well, not quite that extreme, Mom. But yeah, you do have to watch out for low-hanging obstacles sometimes."

As they walked down the street, heads turned. It wasn't uncommon to see Amazons of varying heights, but the stark contrast between Becca and Linda drew curious glances. A group of teenage girls, all hovering around 6'8", giggled and whispered as they passed by, their eyes wide as they took in Linda's impressive new stature.

"I feel like I'm back in high school," Linda muttered, her cheeks flushing slightly.

They stopped at a café for a quick bite before parting ways. The server, a petite Amazon at 6'10", did a double-take when she approached their table. "What can I get for you ladies?" she asked, her eyes darting between Becca and Linda.

"I'll have a skinny latte and a croissant," Becca said, then frowned as she realized her feet didn't quite touch the ground in the Amazon-sized chair.

"Make that two," Linda added, "and maybe an extra shot of espresso in mine. I have a feeling I'm going to need the energy today."

As they waited for their order, a commotion near the entrance caught their attention. A delivery drone was struggling to maneuver through the door, its sensors confused by the Amazon-sized entryway.

"Oh, not again," the server sighed. "Third time this week. These things just can't seem to adapt to our new dimensions."

Linda stood up, easily reaching over the other patrons. "Here, let me help," she offered, gently guiding the drone through the door with her new, larger hands.

"Thanks, miss!" the server said gratefully. "It's not often we get someone tall enough to reach those pesky things without a stepladder."

As they finished their coffee, Becca checked her watch. "I should get going, Mom. I need to get ready for my date."

Linda nodded, carefully standing up and narrowly avoiding knocking over their table. "Of course, sweetheart. I think I'll take a walk in the park, maybe see how the world looks from up here."

They hugged goodbye, Becca's face pressing against her mother's stomach in a strange reversal of their usual embraces.

"Have fun on your date," Linda said, patting Becca's head affectionately. "And remember, no matter what size you are, you're still my little girl."

Becca rolled her eyes but couldn't suppress a smile. "Thanks, Mom. Enjoy your day as a super-Amazon. And please, try not to break anything!"

As they parted ways, Becca couldn't help but feel a mix of excitement and nervousness. She was about to experience a date from a whole new perspective, quite literally. Meanwhile, Linda strode off towards the park, her new long legs eating up the distance with ease, ready to explore the world from her new vantage point.

Becca stood in front of her full-length mirror, marveling at her reflection. The clothes Zoe had arranged fit her perfectly, hugging her new, more compact curves. She'd chosen a sleek black dress that accentuated her still-impressive physique without overwhelming her reduced frame.

"Well, here goes nothing," she muttered, grabbing her purse and heading out the door.

The restaurant, 'Lilliput's Feast', was a trendy spot known for catering to couples with significant height differences. As Becca approached, she noticed the varied ceiling heights and adjustable tables designed to accommodate diners of all sizes.

She spotted Alex immediately. At 5'7", he was scanning the incoming diners, his eyes slightly above most of the tabletops. When he saw Becca, his face lit up with a warm smile.

"Becca?" he called out, standing up. "Wow, you look amazing!"

Becca felt a flutter in her stomach as she approached. Even at 6'3", she towered over Alex, but the difference wasn't as extreme as she was used to with most men.

"Hi, Alex," she smiled, extending her hand. "It's great to meet you."

As they sat down, Becca marveled at how different everything felt. The chair was slightly too big, her feet not quite flat on the floor. The table, adjusted for their height difference, felt oddly low.

"So," Alex began, his eyes twinkling, "Zoe tells me you work in marketing. How did you get into that?"

Becca launched into her rehearsed story, careful to avoid any mentions of her usual height. As they chatted, she found herself relaxing, enjoying the easy flow of conversation.

"I have to say," Alex said during a lull, "it's refreshing to meet an Amazon who's... well, not quite so towering. Don't get me wrong," he added hastily, "all Amazons are beautiful, but at my height, it can be a bit intimidating sometimes."

Becca felt a pang of guilt. "Oh, um, yeah. I guess I'm on the shorter side for an Amazon. Just lucky, I suppose," she lied, forcing a smile.

As the evening progressed, Becca found herself genuinely enjoying Alex's company. He was funny, intelligent, and refreshingly down-to-earth. But with each passing moment, the weight of her deception grew heavier.

During dessert, Alex reached across the table, his hand gently covering hers. "I'm really glad Zoe set us up," he said softly. "There's something special about you, Becca."

Becca felt her heart race, both from the touch and from mounting anxiety. She'd never had a man's hand feel so large compared to hers before. It was thrilling and unsettling all at once.

"Alex, I..." she began, then hesitated. Should she tell him the truth? Would it ruin everything if she did?

"What is it?" he asked, concern crossing his face.

Becca took a deep breath. "I'm having a wonderful time," she said finally, deciding to keep her secret for now. "I'm really glad I met you too."

As they left the restaurant, Becca felt a mix of emotions. The date had gone wonderfully, but the lie hung over her like a cloud. As Alex hailed a cab for her, standing on his toes to be seen over the sea of taller pedestrians, Becca couldn't help but wonder: What would happen when she returned to her normal size? And more importantly, how would Alex react if he ever found out the truth?

The cab pulled up, and Alex opened the door for her. "I'd really like to see you again," he said, his eyes hopeful.

Becca smiled, ducking into the cab. "I'd like that too," she replied, and found that despite everything, she really meant it.

As the cab pulled away, Becca leaned back in her seat, her mind racing. She had about 12 hours left before the effects of the treatment wore off. 12 hours to decide what to do about Alex, and how to handle the complicated situation she'd created for herself.

Little did she know, her evening of surprises was far from over.

To be continued...

Yeah, the sci-fi part was just that, fiction, but I'm glad you liked it! Thank you!

Quite interresting, I enjoy the scientific twist in the story with the nano bots and celluar structure, which is quite bogus (to our current point of science) but again very interresting. I do myself like some tall and buff moms, so this story was quite something special hah! But as well the date we got to look into was very interresting. Please continue the story, I would love to know how it goes on!
