Suzie for the "gunmetal" comic getting a few design changes. She needed to look pretty cool in her own right, in a different way than Colette does. Also since she's like a tech character, she'd need a stupid amount of pockets for holding gadgets and gizmos. I like that I can pretty much transpose her expression and her role as Colette's friend into a mechanic character.
You already see this dynamic in some of my other work already, with Penny and Min in Cassiopeia Quinn. I think I just like the idea of support role characters. It's one of my favorite roles to play in any video game and I sorta wish more games made that a central feature. And I think Suzie here, gets an immense amount of satisfaction in seeing Colette at her best. And picking her up when necessary.
Process notes:
I actually quite like the lineart here. Like some of the drawings from last month, I think the lineart is really strong. But I've been getting a little lazy about the coloring. I'm using the paint bucket tool frequently, mostly as a time saver. And I'm getting "finished" looking pieces out in record time. But I'm not quite satisfied with the level of coloring.
I mean, I'm satisfied enough to post it and say I'm done with it. BUT, if I want to work on it more in the future. I should set myself up for success with that by doing colors in a way that make deeper rendering easier.
I should consult with Brellom on this...
