William loses (mini comic #441)

So William lost the two people he even considered close to being equals with him. I think both Henry and Mrs. Afton were important to him, even if he would probably deny it otherwise (another person would be Michael as well, but that a little different and not important here)

For Mrs Afton, I don’t think her leaving hits him immediately. Maybe he saw it as eventual outcome in their relationship, either way I wouldn’t think he’d be exactly torn up about it.. at first. I think over time of her absence in his life, it becomes more clear to him he actually really cared about her, maybe even loved her, despite that being uncharacteristic of him. I think what leads to the creation of Ballora, and why she’s so human despite seemingly not being haunted (who knows though pff)

Now with Henry, I think the pain is immediate, Henry is probably the person William considered the most worth even talking to. Someone who had his vision, someone who understood the work they were doing. I always find it interesting how Henry made a lot of the more suspicious inventions with William, I think it’s cause he did see the value in making these things, just to see if they could. Even if he didn’t know the full plans William had for them, he saw the prospect, the worth in his ideas. SO losing that partnership is an immediate hit to William’s psyche

This is why the dude went crazy, he lost the two closer connections he had through his own blind behaviour. Obviously this is all just my interpretation of everything we know about these characters, but either way it still deeply interests me,, anyway!! Hope you enjoy this comic!! 💜🩵
