Pheromones potions were a way I planned to introduce light and fun CNC-style content into SS. You'd take one of these, and the next time you entered a populated place, you'd be swarmed by infatuated men or women (or both, if you took one of each) like a sexy zombie apocalypse. I got as far as drafting scenes, but I was a bit worried this content was too close to "the line." I also felt like the mechanics were hard to work with.
I think if I were to attempt to add something like this now, I'd have it be an ability similar to "broadcasting" and I'd scrap the potion aspect.
This isn't the only potion that was cut.
These were actually pretty far along, but I made the effect of the Incubus philter a trait effect instead, which made more sense anyhow, and I just never really did anything with piss and hunger; by the time I got around to it, it felt like there were so many ways to avoid or sate hunger it wasn't really necessary.
Some other potions were cut, too, but only in the planning stage so I don't think they're as interesting. Honestly though, most of the ideas I had for potions over the years made it into the game, though a few just straight-up became traits or other things like tiara effects.
