Hello everyone, sorry for the lack of announcements. I will try to make them biweekly from now on. But yeah, here is the status report. Initially, I was supposed to post the update yesterday, but that was according to the schedule I planned out, but I got absolutely flattened by some sort of flu. So that completely messed up my schedule, so the update will be up soon. Now what will the update change?
Combat:
The combat is now reworked, and now constitution is not a stat only used to make your HP increase over time but also now reduces a portion of the damage you take, this is also true for the enemies.
Your personal demon servant will now accompany you in battle, they can serve as damage dealers or tank damage for you. The enemy will target you or your servant based on how threatened she feels by either of you. Threat is based on how much damage you deal your stats and the threat bonus. Initial threat goes purely off of stats and the threat bonus.
The threat bonus depends on the servant Rhea having the biggest of 60%, the player's threat bonus is 20%, allowing him to tank for servants like Eos and Freia who don't have a threat bonus. While Temis has a bonus of 40% allowing her to also tank.
Readjusting some of the numbers for enemy abilities. Making it harder for them to just randomly grow out of control.
Adjustments for some of the player's abilities making some stronger and nerfing others.
The generic encounters have also been redone, having a custom introduction for each opponent.
I have been experimenting with a new combat mechanism that takes advantage of the inclusion but I am still not sure about its inclusion in this update. As well as the new demonology skill tree which has two branches but both are focused on buffing your servant.
It's proven to have some problems so I won't be adding it in the next update.
Exp system reworked:
Stast and the leveling systems are redone. Now on each level up you gain two skill points which can be used to increase your stats. This now allows for a lot more customization.
This change has also been implemented for the servants as well where you now customize their stats to fit whatever purpose you have for them. But their skill points can also be used in their skill trees where for a certain amount of points you can upgrade and unlock new skills for them.
Skill trees:
Each servant has a unique skill tree focusing on their fighting styles.
Themis for example, can either increase her damage based on the enemy's max hp, dealing more damage to tankier opponents or can deal more damage based on the enemy's missing health.
Eos has the most customization in her skills as she has three mutually exclusive paths that allow her to be either a tank or a damage dealer.
The first path unlocks better spells from either the arcane or elemental schools. Elemental spells have the potential to do more damage, but arcane ones have more consistent damage and cost less sp.
Her tank path has cheap healing spells for herself and abilities that will use her constitution as a bonus to her damaging abilities. Her third path is special and the most expensive bout sp-wise and skill point-wise to go into, as it is all about stealing the opponent's stats and increasing her own permanently.
Rhea's still tree has two paths first one is all about using her high constitution to dish out damage. She can never do as much damage as Themis but she will be still fulfilling her role as a tank. The second path is all about healing herself and you.
Freia has two paths, the first one is just focused on upgrading her starting spells and unlocking stronger and more bombastic spells, but they come with the drawback of costing a lot more than any other servant spells. But with this patch, she also unlocks a skill that will restore her sp in exchange for her HP. The second path focuses on debuffing the enemy slowing down their growth and making them weaker with her final ability being able to almost completely stop the enemy from growing, while also still dealing a copious amount of damage.
Content changes:
The final two of the generic encounters have been reworked and now every generic encounter has an introductory scene with a small snitbit of dialog.
Both the rat and the naga come with their own custom loss screens.
The vampire, imp, and woodelf receive an additional stage of growth.
Part one of the Grand Hunt which introduces a new interactive map. Your goal would be to reach the Sanctuary intact. It will be quite the challenge just based on the fact that you will be working with demons and their natural trustworthiness, but that will be the least of your worries since the local wildlife has quite a ferocious reputation.
Since acquiring the valley, the current Demon Queen has forbidden anyone from traveling to it. Only allowing two small garrisons to be left in the whole valley. Many foolish demons had defied her orders believing the valley to be a private hunting ground for the nobility. Blinded by their greed they went in believing they were going to catch some exotic creatures to be sold to make them stinking rich in no time, Instead, only a few lucky ones ever returned, sharing stories of their experienced hunting parties getting picked off one by one by all manner of terrifying creatures.
To be done before release:
Fix some small small bugs.
Finish the images for the skill trees.
Balance the new encounters, finish the battle scene rework the few remaining non-reworked storyline fights.
Add a button allowing you to leave your servant in your room.
