Heimerdinger (little nugget) and Ekko got sent to a different timeline where everyone who died in season 1 survives and are living their best lives, while Vi dies due to what happened in season 1 episode 1 (the job they were talking about). So, because that job went even more south than it did in our Ekko's timeline, hextech was never discovered in this different timeline. So, Heimerdinger, Ekko, and other Powder/Jinx basically have to create their own version of hextech in order to send Heimerdinger (who elected to stay in this different timeline) and Ekko back to their timeline. This is my favorite episode of the whole series because it shows us what could've been while keeping all the trauma Ekko and Heimerdinger have been through. There's also still loss for the characters in the different timeline due to Vi being dead. Even in this ideal timeline, sacrifices were made. It was definitely cool seeing Milo, Clagger, etc. again

2025-09-22 17:41:34 +0000 UTCSo basically our Ekko took over the alternative universe Ekko, lived in his body for episode, hence why Powder was confused about how he was acting cause they are dating in that universe. That is why there's two of them at the end. Our Ekko stopped inhabitating AU Ekko's body right before he got sent back.
