2024-04-12 05:45:32 +0000 UTCChristina Yangs character is so amazing. She makes so much sense in every action and reaction she has to all the bad shit that happens. I can't blame her at all everytime she has a mental breakdown trying to process what she goes through. Between this and then the surgery with Derek with a gun to her head I do not blame her for fleeing after she gets over the aftermath. And then on top of that I love the decision to give her the monolog of what happened after the fire went out. She is definitely the best actress in the series. The way she delivers those lines about lexi and just describing how terrible the week in the woods was was so subtle and more impactful then us just witnessing it. That moment of her describing lexi and the wild animals is chilling. I hated how much detail it was in such small sentences and the imagery. I think I heard that lexi was supposed to initially die in the hospital this season but she felt like the crash needed to be more dramatic so she asked to be killed off after the impact instead.

This episode aired 7 years after she died and it was the first time I had heard of "the surge." Everything clicked into place and for the first time, I understood what had happened to my mom. I get extra emotional watching this episode because it helped bring a lot of comfort and closure for me when I really needed it.
