The title isn't meant to be ironic with the world at large, I swear. The friend I'm trading with loves the sci-fi series "Serenity" and asked if it could be included somehow, indirectly or otherwise. Since stars didn't fit this lion--the yellow "sparkles" are actually pollen from the flowers--I thought I'd go for the feeling of serenity instead. She loves it, which is the important part!
A moment, if you please, to revel in this painting's destined 50 cent frame:
My thumb will hopefully be bandage-free sometime in February. While the pain from the torn nail has subsided, it's still a royal *$(#@ trying to hold onto anything through band-aids, including my brushes! My nails thankfully grow quickly, so a few more weeks should be enough for my thumb to be normal-ish again. I'll spare you a picture--I trust you recall what my bandaged thumb looked like last time. :P
