This.. I felt like a fly on the wall in a diner. Two guys, one younger, one older, are sitting near the window and talking. This is a phenomenal interview. Hit home hard (because I know pain). I sincerely wish his operations went well 🥲

It’s so interesting how open minded this guy is about so many things, but when it comes down to it he’s strictly “the law is the law.” I like how he seems very open to policy change (because the law is the law, if it becomes law he’ll agree with it) but I think the part (one of several) he has so vastly skewed is when he suggests it may be a lifelong battle for people to get these things undone. That’s just the point is that all of these laws shouldn’t be so difficult to stop and impossible to undo. This shouldn’t be a lifelong battle in the first place. What’s the difference in giving up our lives to try and create policy change when we’re also giving up our lives by risking doing this stuff ourselves? I appreciate his time, his insight, and his willingness to hear other viewpoints, but there are a couple brick walls placed in his perspective due to his career background which I completely don’t agree with, but I can understand how they came to be there. Also, how’d his knee replacements go? Or can he be found in the middle of Africa these days?
