It's been a while since I did something like that but you guys know me, I’m always happy to give a shootout to an artist I like. Today I’ve made the accountancy of Metrinome Alpha, who wanted a few advices on how to make a living on patreon. I joined their page to take a look… and look at that sketch! Isn’t that absolutely gorgeous?
This isn’t a publicity deal (I showcase your, you showcase mine) I don't do that. I genially like their art and I tough you guys might want to give them a chance. So I asked if they would allow me to feature this picture on my wall. From the little I saw, it’s mostly comics and pinups, so we are in similar territories.

Even now, I have a day job in the comic industry and I’m mostly getting consistent work for the passed 10 years because I can imitate any style when asked. That’s probably why it’s taken a year or so to find what’s really me.

My art teachers always told me my style looked like a comic book even when I was aiming for realistic so, I always pushed for more. I also worked mainstream for a long time and the different clients were always asking me to mimic other artist's style ( I'm really good at that ). so for a LONG time I wasn't sure what MY own style was. I was perfectly happy with cartoonish for a while until I read marvel, The Ultimates and just aimed for that afterward. Although I try to keep my own personality and not just mimic other artists anymore.

2021-10-06 02:26:24 +0000 UTCYou’re definitely right. I was really trying everything for a while, didn’t know which way would get the most attention. A lot of the art that’s more cartoony is from a year ago or more, and in the passed few months, it’s become really consistent. Kind of a mix of realism and cartoon, somewhere between manga/Disney and the straight up realism of your style. Cause your work is comic art, but VERY anatomically correct and realistic comic art. I feel like it really sets you apart. My recent “Sophia: Honorary Avenger” pages were inspired by your work. Some of your work is cartoonish ( in a good way ) some more realistic and some is almost manga looking... But if you can manage to channel what I see in this sketch in your main body of work, then my friend, you are destined for greatness. that said... most of all, do what makes you happy.

Of all the art I’ve done, this little sketch seems to have gotten the most attention. For anyone wondering, it’s for a series I’m planning on drawing, about the Brides from Bram Stoker’s Dracula, redoing the scene where they seduce Keanu Reeves, but instead it’s a female they’re seducing.
