Yato don't have monarchy :) And Gintoki wasn't learning faster than Benizakura, you missed it when they said that he began "awakening" his skills from war, since he was retired for 10 years. Also I don't think Hosen had any kind of redemption. It's just the music set such mood. I see it more of a realization of how weak and pathetic he was, while Hinowa's sympathy was a reminder of why she's the "sun" that's far out of Hosen's league. At the end no one tried to save him like they did it with Itou in Shinsengumi Crisis Arc.

2024-05-13 21:51:46 +0000 UTCabout housen redemption, i dont think it is warranted after all that he had done but it does not bug me. the concept of this arc is the egalitarian sun which shine EQUALLY on all people and hinowa is the embodiment of that concept. i might have a different feeling if he was still alive but he died, on hinowa's lap smiling while gazing the sun. i wonder if this is better if there was an afterlife scene, like they did with otose and the old man. with housen and child hinowa maybe leisurely interacting on a nice weather gazing the sun.

Regardless of that aspect, I loved EVERYTHING from this arc so at the moment it is my favorite out of the ones I've watched

2024-05-10 17:20:40 +0000 UTCLike Hinowa said, Hosen hadn't been exposed to the sun for YEARSSSS. He stayed under yoshiwara's roof all this time, Hinowa knows this and got the idea to open the roof. That's why Kagura, Kamui & others are all fine, but Hosen broke under the sun. As much as I love this arc, it's not on my top 3, I don't really like the last eps. I know that everyone deserves redemption but I don't think Hosen deserved to even see Hinowa's face anymore aaargh she's too much of a goddess. A little bit trivia, Sorachi sensei wanted to kill Abuto off at first in this arc. Turned out, just like you, a lot of people like abuto, he decided to let him live. And yes, Abuto's VA is Jiraiya's VA. Ps: don't worry, gintoki's only simp is ketsuno ana ๐ gorilla sensei didn't dabbled into this shipping thing (THANK GOD we don't need those shipping wars in this fandom). Gintoki's a free real estate you can ship him with yourself or anyone lol. Also good for BL lovers, there are a whole lot Ginhiji content out there ๐ as displayed by Gintoki himself in this eps

2024-05-10 11:12:06 +0000 UTCYou are so right! All the goofy moments, small almost unsociable but wholesome moments between characters, and funny moments are all peak Gintama. It's what makes the action and serious moments so good. And yes, Gintama's action is great on its own, on par with the big shonens' (or maybe even better if I may be so bold), but within the context of Gintama as a whole, it is more than great. 10/10. Also, Saita being such a main character is awsome and kind fo funny lol

So when you think about it, that means the โkaโ in Kagura, ็ฅ, is actually her last name, which she shares with her dad and brother. It's a super rare name then. And if we go further down that path it means the earth is a metaphor for just Japan, while the other countries are represented in universe as amanto nations.
