Update on my monetization launch

TL;DR

-----------------------------------------------------------

A week ago, I published a post explaining how I wanted to monetize my work.

To sum it up: I’ve been posting images daily (well, more like 5 times a week) on Pixiv and DeviantArt for more than a year and a half. Until three months ago, I never really cared about monetization. Even when I opened my Patreon, I just gave everyone free access with a gift link.

Since then, I started thinking: how could I monetize my content? And How do I give real value to patrons?

First, I tried making “variation batches” from my daily images. Honestly… it didn’t click. I don’t enjoy variations, they feel repetitive and a bit uninspired.

Then I tried something else: turning my images into animations. That was super fun! Watching static pictures suddenly move in a smooth and coherent way was mind-blowing. Technically, it also pushed me to learn video editing and gif making, which I really enjoyed. But the moment I finished my first animation, I wanted to share it everywhere — not just on Patreon, but also with everyone following me on Pixiv and DeviantArt .

That’s when it hit me: sharing my work is more important than locking it behind a paywall. I’d rather keep everything free and open. In the end, I realized I’m more of a “tip jar” guy than a “pay-for-exclusive-content” one. For me, monetization is just a way for people who enjoy what I do to say, “hey, keep it up.”

That’s why I decided to launch a simple $2 tip jar tier. Nothing fancy, nothing exclusive — just a convenient weekly/monthly recap post (gallery + ZIP) and a way to support me if you feel like it. Everything I post here will always remain the same daily content you can already see on Pixiv and DeviantArt (well… without mosaic 😉).

I plan to launch this tip jar on Monday, September 22. On that day, I’ll also close the gift link and unpublish the gift tier. For anyone already using it, don’t worry — your free gift will remain available for a full year.

A huge thank you to everyone who’s followed, shared, and credited my images so far. Your support — whether through a tip or just enjoying my daily posts — truly keeps me motivated to continue investing time in this hobby.
