Arcane Related Videos List

Here is the updated list. The season 2 soundtrack is ongoing. I'm considering the best way to prioritise. Do we think academic and educational live streams should take priority?

Necrit stuff? Nice. How about Shee's or TSkyBien's? Or. Too much? Also. Maybe some timebomb, caitvi, and jayvik related vids? You don't need t ship them, of course. And some Vi & Jinx sisterhood vids? To see how much you agree/disagree idk. Plus some did JayVik disintegrate and die or teleport into another timeline & are alive (or not. Together) fan theories? Oh and some Isha videos (fan videos of course)

Without knowing what people write on reddit - this is an interesting phenomenon, because it's definitely not just Arcane. I was writing my dissertation on the relationship between the media text and the recipient in the context of pop culture fandoms - and what's interesting here is what the fandom as recipient (in this case, the audience) really does with the text (or any media product). Henry Jenkins (as someone who came up with the whole fan theory and participatory culture as a real academic discipline) calls it "textual poaching" - and it's effectively a process of appropriation. The text becomes ours - in an absolute sense. This is not just reception in the sense of making interpretations, or entertainment and consumption - this is also making deep personal connections to the text in question. And if we consider something to be ours (no matter how fictional), our reactions correspond to that. The other interesting thing is that there is another group besides fandom that follows a similar approach to their subject of interest - academics. If I'm stretching it a bit, these are the groups that can really turn their lives upside down for something absolutely fictional. I certainly can't look at it from the perspective of psychology (I'll leave that to Stu), but from the perspective of disciplines that deal with reception, the depression over Arcane (whether caused by the show itself, or the fact that it's over... or whatever) is not unrealistic. Neither are stories of people claiming that any fiction changed their lives - that's the power media content arguably has. I guess I'd just be wary here about how people tend to use the word depression for any negative emotion.

There is one thing not on your list which I think is worth exploring. It's called the "after/post arcane depression" on reddit. I would like to know your opinion on this phenomenon and whether the symptoms described in many diffrent posts since arcane ended could be real signs of depression. In short: What do you think of the use of the Term "after/post arcane depression"?

There are a lot of high quality fun Runeterra (world of arcane/ based on the league of legends game by Riot Studios) cinematics to toss on every once in a while. Can just sort the league of legends reddit by most watched to get some ideas.

I think we discussed this at the last stream that I thought I had watched Ekko: seconds but then we werent sure if I got side tracked at the time and did something else lol.

Lenny

iirc you already watched Ekko: Seconds (but if i'm wrong then no harm, you can watch it again lol). you can watch cinematics from League's inception. the official list is like 200 videos long (LMAO) so maybe it's something you'll be interested in watching just on your own time > https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLbAFXJC0J5GaupX-BYDsT12YfCUppoxHc what i'd like to recommend is a specific cinematic, A New Dawn. there's no music and no dialogue, but it should be good to watch right before you delve into Bite Marks, because it's a basic showcase of champs, some who is iconically Noxian and appears in Bite Marks.

donglordthe3rd

Yesssss more arcane content đŸ„ł

Jamie

All of this looks interesting and im happy to recieve them in any order. I will say, some Mel/Ambessa content would be nice first, just since we have so much of the other characters already. Just to get the ball rolling. So id go bite marks, cus its quick and has mel stuff, then the academic streams (mels sooner than later) Love all your content 💕

Nana-Afia

Agreed!

Benjamin

I'd be super excited to see the exploration of Bite Marks, and more lore of Runeterra. I can't get enough of peoples opinions of the world. (Other members included, I love everyones opinions).

Sezzy

Jinx fixes everything has a TINY bit of additional info that could potentially be used in the academic ones. Not a ton, but it's pretty quick so might be worth doing before. Apart from that I don't have any strong opinions, bite marks would be cool though
