Thanks to Heather for recommending this. Let me know your thoughts - especially about 'perfectly sick'?

The relationship goes for two years, where he has lost his songs and his words to create and express himself, where the only thing he was is the performer in front of her skin. In the original song he doesn’t use the word perfectly, just completely sick. Lara uses perfectly, I believe that from the female perspective, such love taken at such a deep level is perfectly beautiful. Her performance brings such a strength, in a sense reivindicates the sense of weakness and despair from the male perspective. I think for a man feeling like this might be seen as weak, complete sickness. From the female perspective being in love is perfect and beautiful, even when inhabiting the spectrum of sadness and despair.

This song touches my heart deeply. I studied French and since then I can say that no other language capture the feelings of loneliness and abandonment, broken hearted so magnificently. This song is icon of love songs in French culture, and different artists make covers of it. This performance is insane. The story goes that the writer of the words was telling his female friend who composes, about this relationship he was carrying. The lady puts together the music and presents it to him next day. He writes the words. Together they made this song. This is why the visuals make sense to me coming from a masculine perspective. When he talks about being left in the night alone when his mom goes out makes me think that he is replaying the same program of abandonment by a female figure. The part where he says his value doesn’t come anymore from his songs or his words, but how he stands in front of her skin. I think is beautiful that his lady friend turned his pain in a musical composition for him to put his words and worth again in his art. Probably helped him to get over this depressive state. Anyway, I am not the expert but now that you know a little bit of the story behind it maybe can give us a deeper analysis. I am curious as the mother of two boys: My younger child shows issues with me leaving him, he has an anxiety around the theme of me forgetting him or abandoning him. As a girl, I don’t remember being too attached to my mother, so I am unsure if it is a gender thing or his personality. My eldest doesn’t have too much attachment or feelings of abandonment about me in such an obvious way. I would love to know as a mom how to help both my boys to not have unbalanced attachment to their future partners; and I think is my responsibility to model a healthy relationship with the opposite sex. Very grateful to Heather who requested this song for you to analyze.
