I don't remember where I heard this, but someone else mentioned something similar in regard to Ren changing and growing. They related it to the fact that the rest of the album is quite different - I think this is the only hip-hop song on it and the rest will be more focused on guitar and vocals. So that fits nicely with what you're saying. He's ending some pieces of himself/his work and moving on, transitioning into a new phase. Idk, the darkness worries me a bit on his behalf, but maybe - much like his Kujo Beatdown track and what he mentioned in his "Defining Success" speech - he's feeling the bitterness, being with it, acknowledging it, and working on letting it go.
