Ok your one sided view is starting to be frustrating. Last episodes was 10 min speech about Viren all over the same. Yes, that is his fault but Claudia have own mind just like Soren, she could do better but she decided to stick to dark magic and her father. Viren was also manipulating by Aaravose, if elf is telling u that going on the war with his own kind is right to do then he just confirm that he have right. If someone is convinced that they actions are right and have ppl around them confirm that, u not thinking logically. He was in shock all the time bc he was in his visions, we just saw a bit of it. He died and was already regretting what he done bc Aaravose wasn't there u telling him another, if Claudia would stop to pushing he will too. Leaving her was THE BEST that he can do, stop pushing just bc she want it and leave so she will stop thinking to protect him. What other he should do? Kill himself in front of her? Viren is character made to be hating but his story is complicated, you can't just look at it one way and screaming how bad he is, he know that's why he is like this last season. He started to clearly see that he was wrong and he was manipulated, he saw that what he was trying to do was wrong and humanity is save so there is no point to continue going that way. He started to see what is happening with his daughter and regret. Yes it's late maybe even too late but Claudia is alive and have a chance to change her life so he's leaving to show her that there is no point in pushing that path. I'm not saying that we should love him now, but this is great showing how hard it is to redeem yourself when u go so deep into evil. His not asking from mercy or understanding, he just saw how he ruing his family which he love deep inside and want them to be free from him.

Like, "Oh no, you turned into a person that's not so pleasant to look at. Guess you're on your own." Kinda reminds me of that one guy who burned his girlfriend's face and then left her because of it. Viren should heed his own advise and "Get a grip".

I think in the past she worked dark magic with the understanding that there was no other way to be a mage. She removed herself emotionally. Now, she has evolved. She is fully able to kill a creature she saw as a companion for quite some time. Even in her fight with Callum and the others, she was willing to sacrifice them. Hiwever, despite hardening her heart, she is still the girl with abandonment issues.
