To clarify, the "water engineer" is the titular character Moon Girl. This is very much more a Brooklyn episode than a Moon Girl episode (nothing wrong with that). Moon Girl, aka Lunella's "powers" are that she's a super genius who invents stuff including the portal that allowed her to meet Devil Dinosaur. Cheerleader girl is Lunella's best friend Casey who is also her superhero publicity manager and in on her secret identity hence why she had Devil Dinosaur's phone number. Casey is a Jewish Latina. Brooklyn I believe is Afro-Latina but I'm not certain. The exposition guy is a 4th wall breaking reality warper called the Beyonder who's a recurring character/exposition tool.
