Ah! A fellow Sorvus shipper! A woman of class!
I have a vision (headcanon) for them. Years down the line. The books say Corvus is actually an excellent baker. I imagine Soren, big papa bear belly and bushy beard, doting on their kids (I'd say 3), being the loving father his never was, while Corvus is the "Why do I always have to be the badguy?" parent.
But that's strictly headcanon. Keep an eye on them. You're not the only one to see it.

In high school I worked in a bakery and Iβm pretty sure the monetary cost of all the donuts I ate there over the years was probably more than or at least equal to the total amount of money I made in my time there. Thank god for teenager metabolism cause I was a donut fiend lmao

"Focus! Focus! Focus. Please! No, not that! Focus on this! Please!" Elijah, your ADHD is showing. Oh, wait, you're just talking to the camera.
I for one enjoy your enthusiastic and opinionated reactions. They are must better than someone just watching the show and giving an occassional aside. What was that quote from the behind the scene features of The Phantom of the Opera (2004)? "Nobody ever paid to see under the top." Let your freak flag fly and and if the normies can't handle it, well, they can go fuck themselves in every orifice clockwise from their left ear.
In fact, I think I should introduce my niece to your reactions. She adored The Owl House when she first watched it at four, and would probably love to experience it again through another's eyes... and to see that you can be a girl and enthusiastic about your interests, no matter what her paternal grandmother says. Never mind that she might learn a few new words...
Anyway...

The ship name depends on who you think is the top. So obviously it's [redacted].

Yeah! There's a great conversation to be had about how Redemption Arcs β Forgiveness Arcs - especially since a lot of shows (children's shows especially) like to combine the two ideas

Here's my hot take on Viren. He deserves a redemption arc, because it's not really redemption. It's looking at all the bad shit he did and trying to figure out how to admit it to himself and move on to becoming a better person. Redemption implies forgiveness, which I think is where a lot of the hate comes from.
I think the big reason a lot of people don't like the redemption arc is because we, as an audience, do not forgive him. We don't forgive his actions, therefore his attempts to better himself aren't seen as deserved. It's like the characters in the show - just because he does have an arc of understanding what he did wrong doesn't mean they have to forgive him. That doesn't mean he doesn't deserve to be better, just that we don't forgive him and that's okay! Hell, I'd even say it's a really important lesson to learn - just because you try to be better doesn't mean others are obligated to give you the benefit of the doubt.

I understand where you're coming from, but I have to disagree. Nobody is unworthy of redemption - in this case. Yes, Viren did horrible, shitty things, but that doesn't mean he can't be a better person and shouldn't strive to better himself. Nobody is obligated to ever forgive him, mind, but that doesn't mean he still shouldn't evolve as a character. Hell, the writers are even going to give a reason for Viren's dislike for his son later - can't say more lest I risk spoilers.

Completely agree with you although after his βfall from graceβ (pun intended) I only see him now as a goofy depressed little dude whoβs βredeemingβ himself way too late

So the reason for the black-and-white outlines for Viren is it's a reference to the Mad Men opening. As for his dynamic with Soren, it is very complicated, in ways we haven't seen the full extent of. His vision of baby Soren turning to dust is a hint at it. Definitely a journey unwinding Viren's very complicated moral compass. Arguably easier to thread than Claudia's to be honest.

You see with the antagonists of Korra (except Unaloque, he was just a boomer) you could see their point of view and what happened in their lives that made them veer from the right path and made them into the people they became.
With Viren though, thereβs none of that, heβs just a power hungry, hateful monster of a man who did and wanted to do the majority of the bad shit he did even before he met Aaravos. Hell, Viren without hesitation said his own sonβs life βdidnβt matterβ but only NOW heβs like βoh I love my son!β, bullshit.
But now the creators have the audacity to try to give him a redemption arc is just insulting to the audience.

This and the next episode are still two of my favorites from the show, just because I was enjoying Viren as a villain up until his death, and then his interesting deviation in character after, so these two just really hooked me more into his character.
Also the way Elijah has been feeling about Viren is how I felt with every Korra antagonist, I had nothing but pure hatred for those characters, wanted to kill them myself with my bare fists lmao

With terry, I think its a case of love being blind for Terry. He loves Claudia so much he is intentionally ignores the red flags or tries to justify her dark ambitions. My headcanon is that he had to deal with meatheaded Earthbound elves like the drake riders who were massive transphobes. Claudia offered him a chance of rebellion against the status quo and accepted him. So he believed in her vision. With the whole, βI am sure in the end, it will be worth it.β

I guess that in some of the more discourse-y fandoms people can be a little sensitive to certain takes and whether one is willing to just let the story play out that they'd fail to pick up on any exaggeration for comedic purposes, but at that point, it's like why are they watching a reactor if they're going to be that sensitive.

Hope i been polite enough in comments. I do enjoy them. My only issue and why I comment a lot with Viren and others is there does seem to be aspects of the show worth commenting on that are not being picked up but honestly that's more an issue of the show writing. Still a great show. Just easy for the conflicts to feel more one sided, especially on the society level in the show.

Great reaction as usual. I also wanted to say I found your talk about people taking it too seriously, really interesting. And it makes sense that you enlarge it for reactions I think that is part of the reasons why your videos work. And your right it's entertainment which people can forget in the comments. I remember when I watched your arcane season 2 reactions you were just really in the show but watching your member weekly Livestream you talked about how you had some problems with season two and I was surprised but it also makes sense. And I feel like you're talk today puts into words why.

In regards to the inn scene, they originally were going to show what happened in the inn. From the writers we have an idea of what would have gone down. First it would have been a DnD pub setting with references to TTRPG Tales of Xadia and its characters. Rayla potentially would have gotten into a fight with another inn guest. Later in their room, one of the beds was broken and the creators told us to decide what happened after lol.
In The backwards Opeli scene, she said βYour Favorite Jelly Tart is coming back in styleβ and is a Pikes Peak reference.
The Rayllum star gazing scene in this episode was originally a scene cut from season 3! It was so awesome to see it come to life in arc 2!

Ah yes, Sorvus my beloved - it started out as a very small ship in S2-3, but it grew in popularity after S4-5 and well...it's a great ship in my opinion! There's a lot to love about those two individually already, so both of them fitting together well is like the cherry on top!
Much like Callum's dreams in S2, Viren's dark magic dream is insane imagery that's disguising very real thoughts, feelings, and experiences. It was fun (for me at least) to try to figure out what each scene was communicating - what was purely symbolic and what was a distorted memory
