Hey all! As per the title, it’s release day for book five!

As we’re on Patreon, most people reading this have already supported the book more than I could ask for, and it’s hard to express how much I really appreciate that, as it’s the only reason I’m able to continue to write. Please feel free to ignore the rest of this post if you’d like -- zero expectations!

If you would like to leave a rating or review, though, you can do so here. Reviews and ratings really are the lifeblood of independent authors, and that’s ten times as true on release days, especially when there’s not any reviews out yet. If the first few people to read it end up giving it a bad rating, then sales can plummet when readers see a low rating on the product page. As Amazon readers tend to treat anything under a 4.5 rating as a glaring red flag, this can get book sales in trouble if there aren't a bunch of ratings on day one.

More than that, part of the reason I’m switching to a new series is to try to get new readers and convince them to read this series, with the end goal of making it more financially viable for me to move onto writing book six without having to worry about making a living. Reviews and ratings on this book and its predecessors do that a lot more directly, hopefully making it easier to eventually write book six without needing to do it part time.

So! If you’ve enjoyed the series, it would ultimately mean a lot if you decided to leave a rating or a review. This is entirely free; you do not need to purchase the book to do this (as long as you've already read it here), and in the case of a rating, it can be as quick as two/three clicks.

Shilling over! Always my least favorite part of writing, but that can’t detract from the fact that I’m really excited to have this book out there, and I want to give a big thank you to everyone who’s already read it.

I’m off to a cafe now to write another chapter for the new series (~40k words in so far), and I’ll eventually be posting more on that at a later date.
