Updates + General Suckiness

Hi all, just a few important updates here.

First off, on a pleasant note, the audiobook for book two is now live! If you'd like to grab a copy or leave a review, you can find it here.

Second off and a bit more importantly, I had quite the admin week, and not really in a good way! Suspend some disbelief here, as reading over this, it sounds more like something I'd see in a Royal Road story than it does an actual life event, but unfortunately it is in fact my life 🙃

On Thursday, I had a really chill and common low-risk surgery that I thought went well. Fast-forward a few hours later, and I rapidly discover that it did not go so well. Ended up with a complication that only happens in like 1/1000 cases and my doc had me go to the ER on Friday where they kept me overnight.

Docs were initially planning on putting me under anesthesia and doing a quick operation to fix the issue, but because there's always a risk of something happening even for pretty safe operations, they ended up recommending I take a different route. Basically, the complication is something my body can fix on its own given enough time.

The long and short of it is: They sent me home, but I'm in a fuck ton of pain! Hurts to get out of bed. Hurts to walk. Stomach hurts from the pain medication and antibiotics I'm on. Altogether a lot of general suckiness. Apparently things should get better pretty quickly, but they said it'll probably be three-ish weeks before I'm mostly back to normal.

Still figuring out what all this means for writing and for work -- scheduling a meeting with my boss today to see if it's possible to get a short-term leave. Writing-wise, I've done basically nothing the past few days, and I'm going to try to see tomorrow if I can muster up the energy to write (either while in pain or while a bit loopy from pain meds).

If this ends up affecting when I get chapters out or I need to push anything back, I'll make another post -- sorry for the awful timing here considering we're so close to finishing book 3, and thanks for bearing with me!
