Hi hello, all! Posting the next chapter directly after this.

Just wanted to post a note because I think this arc has been the one with the most comments out of any of them, some positive, some less so. Pretty understandable, as after about 200 chapters, this is the first time we get into some darker and less pleasant themes + actual character deaths.

If you're enjoying this arc, we love to hear it! That's the goal.

If you're not enjoying this arc as much as others, just wanted to say that it's very close to being done. Without any serious spoilers, Thursday's chapter marks a big shift into the next arc, and I promise I won't be getting into anything this sad or grimdark in the foreseeable future (and am furthermore very, very excited for book 4.) Like some of you, I'm also looking forward to the end of this arc, if for the sole reason that I find it much much harder to write these heavier emotional scenes than I do fun ones when Tess is going out shopping or beating up some annoying noble in a duel.

I also think, as some of the comments have pointed out, that's it's tough to read sadder arcs when it's a web-serial. It's easier when you can get it done all in one sitting rather than having to get hit with every time for two weeks, which is an unfortunate side-effect of the medium, which is something I'll try to keep in mind in future books.

All that to say -- if this arc has been less your vibe than others, thanks for sticking it through, and I hope you'll enjoy what comes next!
