Hey it’s a custom drawing kickstarter reward, for Mike in Seattle. Mike asked for (adult) Chip and Biff Oblong as naked gym bros. Mike has a long history of off-the-wall erotic tattoos and collages, and this is pretty tame for him, tbqh. Lol.
I have a bit of a history with the Oblongs that I wasn’t even aware of until the first Bent-con, when I met Angus Oblong for the first time and saw his characters. It took a little piecing together, but I had gotten his mini comics in front of an animation producer and got the ball rolling that resulted in the show being made. I had never met him, I bought the xeroxed comics at the coffe shop near my work in Cow Hollow, in San Francisco. They were weird and bizarre in a way that resonated with me. A friend in animation liked them too, and asked me to get as many as I could so he could show him to his boss. The rest is history, I guess. I mentioned this to Angus and he got a really weird expression on his face*, and never spoke to me again. I didn’t want anything from him, I was just sharing a connection we had. Oh well. There’s further weirdness that I won’t go into here.
