Burial of the Rats pg 19
Added 2016-12-19 06:42:35 +0000 UTCTo be entirely honest, when I first read "Burial of the Rats", I was so appalled by this realization that the poor wretches were the "horror" of the story, I skimmed through the last half of the story, which becomes a chase scene. I was only interested in finding out whether I was wrong in this assessment, which, I am sad to say, I wasn't.
After I had decided to draw the thing, I was only intent on getting to this juncture... but then I thought I should finish it. It is exciting, and there are some great visuals. So I went back to read it again and that's when I saw just how much of it I had skipped over; the back end of the story was new to me!
Anyways, there's still fun to be had, some gore, and more opportunities to posthumously kick Stoker in the butt.
Oh, and a note about drawing this panel: You all know I am vocal about politics, and that I wind up having to defend my point of view on a regular basis. This led me to have a very hard time drawing myself angry for this panel, because I don't want to be angry. I've been irritated and frustrated lately about the constant finger-pointing at me for being different, and it's been taken as hostility and anger over and over. I don't want to be angry. So I had a really hard time with this panel, because I originally wanted to be seriously done with Stoker over this, and take longer to walk it back... but my everyday life caused me to soften it, make it more humorous, and stress over drawing a scowl on my face.

after waiting a few days and reading them in sequence, I think I may well end up drawing this 4th wall breaking out to 3 pages rather than 2.
