One Piece Episode 591 UNCUT REACTION (wtaf bruh)

Comments

Most of the people you see complaining about pacing are just... well, picky people, people who like to complain just to look smart. I've been reading the manga and watching the anime since 2009 (I've repeated episodes and chapters so many times that I lost count) and yes, I've found bad pacing but I agree that this arc doesn't have much of it. I guess what I'm trying to say is, don't generalize. There are lots of different people in every group and the manga readers you mention are definitely just a small fraction of all the manga readers out there. Most of us actually know about pacing, story progression components, character development, etc :)

Again, people focus too much on the numbers, and page counts when it comes to analyzing pacing and manga readers are notorious for this. They look at an episode adapting like 1 chapter and say its horrible pacing because previous arcs had 2-3 chapters per 1 episode. But there is alot more to consider, when it comes to an adaptation and you pretty much brought up a couple of those in the post discussion like the transitions and effects being used to heighten the scenes that helps create tension, tone shifts, ect. I am a first-time watcher of this arc and I have absolutely no issues so far with the pacing. I love it. I have seen worse pacing in this series, like ennies lobby or Skypia for example. Even as a weekly watcher, I still can't really see that much of an issue. I feel like each episode were getting some pretty steady content of the story. There was 1 previous episode that had 90% comedy but I didn't care because it was just the usual straw hat antics and it made me laugh out loud so it still entertained me. Nothing so far has felt like just straight padding/fillerish moments.

That was a weird cliffhanger. Ok hmmm, im not buying it lol. Thats all i am going to say. There is no way Zoro of all people lost just like that two these two yeti brothers. Unless, maybe they got put to sleep? But I think something else is going on here and it’s the classic facade that oda loves to pull. In any case, good episode went pretty dark and just like I thought, these children are lab experiments, and their gigantification is one of the effects of a drug that ceaser clown is using on these poor children. I love the theory that carson brings up about the kids being nurtured and changed into weapons of war like the pacifista. That’s pretty twisted but the world of one piece is pretty messed up.

one piece fan lifecycle: 1st watch/readthrough: favorite parts are the fights and the between-arc bounty distro 2nd watch/readthrough: favorite parts are the exposition and flashback sequences 3rd watch/readthrough: favorite parts are the jokes and funny faces

I love every beginning and ending of arcs. I tend to lose interest when the characters start to run for a good while or when the fights begins. Action is cool, but this is not why I follow One Piece. So I tend to like each arc evenly. Funny story: I took a 10 years break of OP and only binged the anime after watching the live action and I would always fall asleep during the fights but always woke up at the most critical moments XD It is really fun to rediscover the series and seeing how I like very different aspects of the story compared to when I was a kid/teen.

getting kidnap victims addicted to drugs is historically the #1 insurance strategy for psycho kidnappers, i think oda had a veritable plunder of inspirations for that one
