She's basically always been this way it seems, always tries to see the bright side in everything, even when she was basically starving to death, and just wanting to help. She was happy to be sold into basically slavery because she believed it will help save her younger brother.

2025-04-25 20:04:38 +0000 UTCthe great uncle thing was pretty much spelled out, Maomao mentioned that Luomen had explained the relationships/events to her when she was still young in the S1 finale (Maomao told JInshi that he told her about Lakan's trouble with faces since childhood etc showing that she knows that Luomen knew Lakan as a kid), the show (and the books) mostly assume that the audience understands stuff without them going all the way with explanations (to be honest the anime sometimes makes things more obvious by adding scenes, as well as having the visuals compared to the novels) but yeah the baby switch is just conjecture on Maomao's part that hasn't been confirmed by the story it's also still unclear what Jinshi knows about his parentage (presumably what he thought after his memory dream)
